I have found that the thing which has given my wardrobe the biggest post-baby lift is a pair of black boots with slight heals;) Not so high I can't walk in them. just high enough to make me hold myself properly & look a bit smart & go with everything (almost):D

    HTH;)

Tesco, primark, car boot sales and ebay. Asda's clothes are pretty good too. I agree with Lillibet on getting black heeled boots. As soon as I wear mine, I walk properly and taller.

how about getting together with a few mates and having a "clothes swap " event?
could boost social contact and you and your mates could give each other feedback and support!

I would recomment Primark, Peacocks, QS, MK1, New Look, Asda (George), BAY. I know you said other than eBay but you can really get some top brands really cheap.

I recently had a baby and am fed up of wearing jogging bottoms etc so want to revamp my wardrobe so I'll be able to feel like a woman again and not a fat frumpy mum... whats the cheapest way to do this apart from Ebay?? Going to look round some charity shops when I get chance but are there any other ways?

Personally i always find a nice coat of paint or varnish does the job nicely:D

    sorry couldnt resist

Sounds bad but I don't have proper mates. The joys of raising 2 kids at the age of 21 I guess.

saves me from having to make the joke... ;)

H&M are great for basics, TK Maxx, New Look, etc as mentioned. Get a few basics that make you feel great then add accessories. I'd echo the heels suggestion it makes you look slimmer and feel better as you hold yourself better. It's worth asking on Freecycle as there's often people who clear their wardrobes out seasonally.

I would get a really good pair of jeans, a good fitted coat that'll see you through to summer - trench coats are timeless but I find it hard to wear them casually so a fitted short jacket may suit you better. A wrap dress can be dressed up and down easily - New Look often have them for under £20. And even basic things like vest tops and t shirts if they fit you properly will make you feel more stylish.

It's always worth looking in charity shops too but they're often as expensive as Primark...

Work out what you tend to wear most of all, so for example, if you live in jeans, buy a couple of well fitting pairs in fairly classic styles/colours, or if you have to be smart for work, black trousers can be worn with just about anything. Spend the most money in these areas, then hunt around places like Primark, Topshop, New Look, supermarkets etc (and don't discount your local market if you have one) for more 'fashion' items that you will wear less often, or that will only last a season or two.

When you have a few basic outfits sorted, accessorise, accessorise, accessorise!! Get yourself to Claire's Accessories for funky beads, scarves, bags etc. Dolcis also seem to have a handbag sale on constantly - I bought a lovely bag in there recently which was £3!

Flip flops are a fab casual option for summer, and only cost a couple of quid, and a decent pair of black or brown boots will see you through winter/spring.

Something else to think about if you are buying new clothes etc:

If you spend £50 on some boots, and wear them almost every day for 6 months, they would cost you about 27p per 'wear', whereas if you buy a cheap £15 pair, and wear them once a week (because they're not as comfy/nice), and then they fall apart after 4 months, they would have cost 88p per 'wear', so don't necessarily go for the cheapest option, it might not be as money-saving as it first appears.

Oh, and knowing you are a rock chick at heart, New Look have some good rock chick style t-shirts in at the moment lol!
