I recently had a baby and am fed up of wearing jogging bottoms etc so want to revamp my wardrobe so I'll be able to feel like a woman again and not a fat frumpy mum... whats the cheapest way to do this apart from Ebay?? Going to look round some charity shops when I get chance but are there any other ways?

Do you have a primark near you? Its fab, you can buy all sorts of trendy new gear for next to nothing.
Is there anything in your wardrobe that you can do something with (e.g. dye a new colour/make into something else.?Loan (orig. £6014.20), now [STRIKE] £5,813.74 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£5,063.58[/STRIKE], £5,438.66 debt free Oct 2009

I do, but most of it has been overstretched from me forcing myself into them whilst pregnant in a desperate bid not to have to buy maternity closes! lol!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

I agree with Primark. After both my sons i had a mad shopping spree (cost about £50 for half the shop!!). I tried to buy items in complimentary colours so that i could mix and match a bit. I dress my outfits up and down with beads etc.

Jumble sales are super cheap. Half the stuff people sell on ebay has been bought for about 20p at a jumble sale.0

Agree with primark, also try peacocks and matalan
I bought a pair of jeans,and 5 tops for £25 yesterday
if you buy colours that will mix / match with some things you already have then you can have a few outfits just worn in different ways / with different accessories0 -
I would get everything out and try it all on, anything that is too small put away in storage for now. Then look at what you have left, what do you like, not like? What goes with what? Then think about possible new purchases to go with things you already have. I recommend Primark for fashion items and also some great basics. Asda have some nice things at the moment.
Sometimes a new belt, beads and the right shoes is all it takes to make something look great. Try and buy things that will go with lots, for example a wrap dress can be worn on it's own or with jeans and a tie cardie.
Don't rush into buying lots of clothes as you will more than likely loose weight.
Hope this helps.0 -
All these are great ideas. Primark is great for cheer you up fashion. I also made some good discoveries in woolworths yesterday (AKA the big W) - a suit and a jacket for less than £20 and I would have paid full price for both the jackets (skirt is a bit big but I can take it in). Also New Look etc, I know they seem a bit teenagey but when you get in there can be some good stuff.
But I would say invest a bit in a couple of basics if you can. A good pair of black trousers that fit you properly or a good black skirt can take you through a lot - Marks have some really nice little black skirts for £15 that are a good shape and wash like a dream.
Good luck clothes shopping0 -
Can you revamp any of your older clothes for a super cheap wardrobe overhaul?
Change buttons, take up a hem, let down a hem, add a patch or motif, use a head scarf instead of a belt through jeans, dye old/faded clothes or tie dye,
or even just do a bit of mending on old favourites.0 -
I wouldn't discount Ebay. I buy a lot of clothes on there. All New With Tags. If you know what you are looking for, then you can get some bargains much cheaper than shops. Also the plus side is you sell your old clothes on there so the new ones don't sost you as much. Every 6 months or so if you get bored of a top or two, flog them on ebay and buy new. Everyones a winner!Save the cheerleader........ Save the world........
