Numpty Question - Southern Ireland !

Weare off for a long weekend in Dublin and didnt really take on baord that we would need to get some Euros.

Can I use my Mastercard abroad ? How much will it cost ? Is it cheaper to get a prepaid credit card sorted out ?

Any advice would be brill.

    Yes. Most credit cards will hit you hard for cash withdrawals though so you may be better using your debit card to get cash, just as you would at home.

    Check with your bank and/or credit card supplier to see how much they charge for foreign transactions.

    Quite often in Dublin, paying with a credit card, I was asked if I wanted to pay in Euros or Pounds. Go for the Euros, as the shop's exchange rate is rarely, if ever, better than your bank or credit card's rate.
