Magicowen I am with the others in what you need to see around there. Definitely the Storey Arms. If you park up opposite by the burger van, cross the road and walk down on the path alongside the road, it will take you to a teeny tiny waterfall (that might be what Call of Trous (?) said about. Its lovely there on a sunny day, and you can paddle in it too :-)
If you have a couple of hours to spare, park up at Storey Arms and cross the road. Follow the footpath until you get to the top! There is some proper stunning scenery around you, and if you are really lucky, the RAF will be practicing below you
Yep, the start of the Taff ( so I was told ) You can trace it up the mountain if your fit enough and the weather is good.0 -

I've just had my shop delivered and I've been charged £6.55 for a twin pack of cathedral city instead of the advertised price of £2.75. I've been back online and it's defo still showing at £2.75. I presume it's the same price in store.
I noticed in store yesterday that there is a different twin pack, it has the normal one and the light one in it - that is definitely £6.55.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
There wasn't very much coverage at the time because shortly after the Aberfan Disaster happened and the Barmouth Disaster was overshadowed by it.
I was a young child at the time and a year younger than my cousin. I was given my cousin's clothes and toys. Her family had a lot more money than ours and I happily played with these toys. I was too young to really comprehend at the time.
O no so your cousin was a child then? That is so sad.
You're right as I had heard of Aberfan .0 -

I'm with the others who have been there so many times but never knew. Is there a memorial plaque or something at the site?0 -
 I LOVE it!! :j
I'm not sure if you can see my Nana's old house on there, it's by the bridge - Idris View!
I just googled some images for Aberdovey, I'm sure if you went back your pics would be even better FK!
I'll dig out some photos we took last time we were there , I'm sure we took a few of the bridge etc ..:)I was young once , now I get older all the time .0 -

Yes, she was a child.
I remember that when the Aberfan Disaster happened, we all had to take a penny to school for the Disaster fund. Showing my age now!French_Knickers wrote: »I'm with the others who have been there so many times but never knew. Is there a memorial plaque or something at the site?
Yes, there's a memorial plaque on the wall of the pub nearby. I have never been there but my husband went on a motorbike rally there and made a point of going to see it.0
