How rude of me, Morning all. :)

Have some good news though mum has gone to the day hospice on her own today. A volunteer driver was going to pick her up which she was not entirely happy about but it is meant to be giving me a break too, but I did not say that to her. ;)

As you know I too look after Mum. However I am going away for a few days so Adult Social Care have arranged care from an agency. My Mum too is not happy about it but looking after her is becoming more and more difficult and I dont think she realises that I too need a break. I have been putting her to bed aswell even though she does not really need it. She told me yesterday that it is my duty as I live the closest to go there 3 times a day at least. My Dad was Italian and Mum is Irish and she expects me and my 2 sisters to look after her but my two brothers are exempt( even though one of them had most of my parents savings and now lives in a big swanky house and Mum who is 85 has a great big mortgage to pay). Really difficult situation. Anyway enjoy your day today and hope you can squeeze it all in. I know what you mean about towels I have loads of new ones that I never use.

  • Finest free range drumsticks and thighs 825g, b/c 1778 with bbd of 17 May have a misprice of £3.00 on the packaging but scans at £3.90 (the usual price). Other packs are correctly priced at £3.90.

Note - these are not the corn fed packs which are £4.99.
  • I don't think it kicks in straight away - I started using 2 old ones again recently and the first say 2 or 3 shops didn't get anything, then it started up. Regular consistent spenders do not get nearly as many tillspits - they already have your custom so don't need to give you any incentive to keep returning/spend in their stores. They are mainly targetted at peeps they want to pull in, not existing good customers. Which is very very wrong from a CS perspective, just hard-nosed marketing.

Thanks RN :T:T will fish out one of the old ones and use that for a week or two and see what happens ;) Will let you know how it goes :D

Rose sorry to hear that things are becoming more difficult for you. :(

My mum was very apologetic as first when I started to have to go in to her everyday but now it has become part of her life and she expects it. Not that she could manage at all if I didn't.

I really don't mind and I want to do it for her so that she can stay at home for as long as is possible. She did have carers going in at first but we had to work around it as she did not do herself any favours as would get up the crack of dawn to get everything done before they arrived. So for now she does without, but takes a lot of planning on my part.

At times I feel it is hard with the weight of it all on my shoulders but I guess in other ways I have no siblings to have any problems with. Sounds a very difficult situation with your brothers, glad I don't have that worry.

I am lucky I only live 5 minutes away but going everyday does take it's toll. I will still have to go into her tonight but it feels good knowing that someone else is making sure she has a good meal and drinking properly etc. But most important is someone else to talk to, maybe your mum will benefit from that with someone else going in. Would it be an option for someone from the care agency to carry on going in once a week to give you a break? :)
