The answer they are old stock & keep a copy of the 1p Daily Mail article with you, only use it when all else fails there is a link on one of the first pages.

I got a real bargain last night which I love, when I can find my camera I'll take a photo

I emailed CS last week about the scanners in my 3 nearest stores not working, this is what they said :-

I’m sorry to hear that the price scanners in our ******** Extra store, ******** store and our ********* Extra store don’t seem to be working. I can imagine your disappointment, as these are often out of order and these scanners make it much easier to check a price if no price label is available.

After looking into this for you, I’ve found that we’ve experienced a number of problems with the machines showing the incorrect prices, no prices or just not working. So, we’re currently in the process of reviewing the machines and looking to see if we’re able to improve the software used on them.

So, please be assured that once they have completed the investigations, they will do all they can to get them back up and running in all stores as soon as possible. But, I’m afraid I haven’t got a date as to when this will happen, which I’m sorry for. However, all stores will do all they can to have the correct price labels showing at all times from now on.

Spoke to the manager in the store I really hate yesterday asked why scanner still not fixed even though I mentioned it to him last week he said we are having it taken out because I'm fed up with people asking about it :mad: as you can imagine not well pleased I mention a store has just had one put in, some !!!! & bull story about extras having them taken out & superstores having them put in :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
