Lookingforabargain - good luck for later and I hope your shopping works out. Keep a tally of prices etc as you go round, i find writing it down/ticking it off my list helps!
Bubbs - fingers crossed that the river doesn't get any higher.. that's a bit of a joke re: the floodgates isn't it? Hope you get a reprieve from any flood/water damage.
Tinyshoes- glad your mum had her appt today and that you were with her. Hopefully she will take on board the doc's advice. As you say, if she can have something to make her more comfortable with the pain relief, surely that must be a good thing.
Off to bath DS in a bit so catch up later xxTiger

I just hope they find something thats she agrees to take and makes her pain alot less, Do you think she will tell her brother though?
So do I, she does take an anti depressant too which the doctor said they could increase as well to help with nerve pain. I have to inrease the gabapentin dose over next couple of weeks and then she has a review appointment. The doctor does not want to increase the zomorph anymore and it was a bit of a battle to get her to take that in the first place. I think it stems from her side of the family, who did not visit the doctors at all, actually until it was too late for anything to be done. So I think she equates certain drugs to only be taking towards the end if you know what I mean, which is sad.
As for mentioning it to her brother, not sure, she may not even remember that I had the conversation with her as her memory is starting to be unpredictable. And she is the sort of person who switches off when she doesn't want to hear something. Which in the case of the doctor she will have only heard "methadone" and shut off and not heard the fact that one patient is only needing to take a tablet every 3 days to control their pain or another who has been taking it for a year and coping well at home. So she will not be able to relay that to him only that she was offered it.
I, on the other hand, am the sort of person who asks lots of questions and wants to know the ins and outs of everything so good job I go along.0 -

A lovely sunny evening after torrential rain this morning.
Congratulations to Mr.Tinyshoes....:j:j:j hope your Mum will take some pain relief if needed and not try to cope without it.
Mymerrywidow...Sorry to hear about you having to have your toe amputated..:( My Mum lost 3 toes on the same foot many years ago due to an accident with a lawnmower. It took her a while to adjust her walking and even now she still feels the missing toes.
Thank-you Miss.Laid for the socks info, managed to find 2 packs today..:T:TBorn to glitch0 -
I do apologise everyone for my long posts this evening about my mum. Not having any siblings to discuss it with I'm afraid you are all having to take their place.
Will leave you all in peace as off to the dreaded school meeting now with DD3.0 -
