Went to M's to look for the Ariel tabs this morning, they only had the packs of 11so had to console myself with 3 boxes of fish fingers, thanks for mentioning these Purdita :T they were still marked at £3.99 . Went in past Mr S on the way home and got a couple more Palmolives
I have a question for those of you involved with young children, I'm babysitting my almost 3year old nephew this afternoon (haven't looked after him for a while, it's usually my DD who babysits him). Anyway, is it normal that he very rarely looks anyone in the eye? I don't think that he has even noticed that his Mums is gone even though she told him she was going, I've tried going down on the floor and getting him to play with his toys with me but he hasn't even looked round to see who's talking to him, in fact he hasn't taken his eyes off the television since I got here. He doesn't really talk either and rarely interacts with anyoneIs it wrong that I'm thinking he may be autistic? I don't really want to say anything to his Mum as when anyone has questioned her children in the past she has told them it's none of their business!
worth checking his hearing first of all, it may be as simple as he is withdrawn because he cant hear?
some kids of that age can be SO imersed in a TV show/toy that they are oblivious to things around them....they get like that again when teenagers lol
but yes ......worth mentioning just to be sure that she is aware, does he attend playgroup/toddler group ...perhaps ask her how he enjoys it? how he plays etc
I know we should never compare kids to others as they are SO individual and can be so many factors in how they act (from hearing problems to autism or even just plain old shyness) but being aware is important .....hopefully its nothing to worry about and he will be running around driving you mad with noise in his own good timeYNWA JFT96 :A0 -
