Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 24th April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Payday tomorrow & I still have money in the bank.
I've showered & breakfasted & taken hubby a cuppa & fed the fish & loaded the DW & swished the kitchen & hung washing on the rads to air. Can I go back to bed now? Oh no, sorry I have to go to work. At least it's busy there so I don't get bored.
Packup's made, Jerk chicken & rice for hubby, HM quark & crackers for me & HM yoghurt as a mid morning snack.
Time I started hubby's breakfast, have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

    Morning All

Woke up at 4am, tried to get back to sleep but decided to get up about half 5. Still, I have sent an e-mail off to our HR dept requesting a move, I can't work with the Head any longer - I was a whisker off walking out yesterday. Thinking of taking a grievance out too.

Still, apart from a horrid day at that work yesterday, the other work wasn't too bad and home by 10.

I was given 2 trout yesterday which were already filleted so DD and I had one for tea, will need to give the others away though as we didn't really like it. They are in the freezer waiting for a new home!

Some sort of pork for tea tonight (DD in charge as she's not working), managed to strip my bed and get it all line dry yesterday before it poured down. House fairly tidy, just some washing to fold and put away.

Oh well, better get ready for the dreaded day job. Hope you all have a good day. Take care. XX

Morning All. Couldn't sleep so was reading emails at 3am! Have bread proving in the airing cupboard, washing ready for next stage...it's raining so am sorely tempted to use the TD as yesterday's washing is still in the conservatory (damp!)...and I've sorted the contents of one larder shelf. Feeling tired now...!
DS back in hospital and as usual they are only looking at one symptom and ignoring others, so insulin levels disrupted and not being dealt with and depression meds not issued...I used to treat the NHS with reverence and respect, but the last few years have reduced me to despair!
Went to see Yes Prime Minister last evening. It was really good - and for once the theatre was packed, even on the first night.
Tuition to deal with later today so need to find some stuff for that. Hope I can stop yawning!
Oh well, must get on. Hope you all have a good day today. Take care of yourselves.

    Morning :hello:

I'm starting to think I should just copy and paste my posts from the previous day - this morning I'll be decluttering, sorting, tidying and shredding :D

My mum's coming round at about 11am. A new shop has opened in the old Focus, it's called What. I think it's a chain, has anyone heard of it? Apparantly it's full of bargains but I don't know what it actually sells :rotfl: So we're going down to have a look.

That'll be my day gone, by the time we get back and have a couple of coffees, it'll be teatime, lol.

Morning. Another grey day. How can there be any any left in the sky?! I have 2 meetings this afternoon which i am hoping will be 3 till 5. Which means i'm hoping for 3 things. 1) the powers that be (ptb) dont think hmm we have so much to discuss we shall start at 2 2) the ptb talks so much we dont finish at 5 3) meeting 1goes on so long meeting 2 is postponed till another day. I'm only in 4 days this week yet have 6 'official' meetings not to mention the 3 bods who popped in yesterday 'unofficially'. This morning i have one job to finish from yesterday, some marking, and another long job which might trickle over to tomorrow. And the great office sort continues of course. Managed 15 minutes yesterday. Sorry, this post is very dull more of a pep talk to myself ;-) have a good day everyone.

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Raining continously and started in the night, everywhere really wet here. DH up and off to work early but not stupid early, he's gone early this morning to make up an hour as he's leaving an hour early tonight to go to the dentist and get the remains of a tooth that has broken taken out.

Yesterday as expected was a manic Monday, started off quiet then they came in, continously, got there eventually. Hoping today won't be so bad, as it's so horrid outside. Dinner last night was gammon, egg, onion sauce, mash and veg - tonight will be sausages, potatoes, gravy and veg for boys, DH can have that if he can manage it and I'll have omelette and salad, or DH can have omelette if he prefers.

OS only amounts to a NSD yesterday, and should be another today, will put a load in WM in a mo, will have to dry it on the airer, as dirty washing basket is overflowing. All items on ebay except 1 that hasn't finished yet didn't sell. The remaining item does have 1 watcher - so may sell.

    Not much else to report.

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

    Morning everyone.

Cloudy here but not too cold. Rain on the way I suspect.
Plans for today are to put BM on, WM on, clean kitchen as its filthy, all exciting stuff. Have a friend coming for her usual lunchtime coffee. Also having a dog swap with my mum and her puppy. Hollie is shall we say very high maintenance  and my mum is finding her hard work (she's more hard work than Luna) so I've offered to dog swap one day a week to give her a break. Looking forward to some puppy cuddles and no doubt lots of chewing :rotfl:
Depending on how Hollie is depends on what I get done :o
Want to make some cushions for sofa in conservatory so need to have a mooch through fabric stash.

    Tea is chicken thingy-me-bob :rotfl:
Ok had better go jump in shower and round up the troops to get ready for school.

Camelot have a hug, hope work isn't too crappy today xxx

Ulypool you are a natural, I think people naturally gravitate to you :)

Beemuzed hugs for you and your DS xxxx

Jools have a hug. I wonder how your son plans on funding himself without a job  tough love must be hard but I definately think it works in the long run xxxx

Hugs and spoons all round xx

    Morning all,

Grey and overcast here again today, yesterdays washing is still on the airer damp, so wont do any more today.

DD off to placement today and OH at work, so I have a whole day to myself :D, yesterday I got loads done, even cleaned out a few kitchen cupboards, plan to do more today.

I also need to do a bit of office work, and nip to see dad if I have time.

Left over roast lamb tonight, with left over gravy, and sweede, just need to do some mash, so an easy dinner.

I made loads of cakes yesterday too, so the tins are full.

I know its someones birthday today ( I saw on FB), but I cannot match your real name to your name on here :o

So :bdaycake:Happy Birthday have a great day xxxx (make yourself known :D)

Have a good day all xx
