Swapping numbers within one network
Hello, me and my partner currently have sim only monthly contracts with Vodafone. My contract can be terminated without penalty, hers cannot.
She wants to change network and keep her number. I don't mind staying with Vodafone, so the question is can we do the following...
She changes network and takes her number with her
I transfer my number to her Vodafone account
I cancel my original account therefore not incurring and penalties for termination.
I've spoke with Vodafone and they say I can't do that because there's our individual details on each account, but I stressed that it's just the numbers that would change, they still said no.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

If you mean transferring your number to your partners contract which does not expire immediately, this cannot be done.
The only way for your partner to take her contract to an alternative provider whilst still in commitment is to pay the early termination charges.
You have been given correct information from Customer Services. They are individual accounts with their own expiry date and allowance of calls and texts. You cannot swap contract numbers around.0 -
As Ann says, although it's less to do with the issue that it's a fixed contract with its' own minutes and sms allowance and more to do with the fact that you can't have an active subscription without a live number, which is what would happen in the situation that you suggest. If she wants to port out there is nothing stopping her, but she will get a termination bill.0
