We need to replace our combi boiler & have various quotes on the following boilers:

Worcester 37 or 42CDI
Valiant 37 eco tech
Baxi Duotech 40
Glow Worm

The Baxi seems to be the cheapest & has good water flow rate. Question is is it any inferior to the Worcester or Valaint?

Yes, vastly so. WB and Vaillant are premium brands-you get what you pay for.
The Baxi has a higher flow rate simply because it's a more powerful boiler (40kW vs 37kW).

But the baxi is £500 less to fit at approx 1800 v 2300. Surely it can't be that inferior?

I suspect you are missing the point. You have had (at least) four quotes proposing four different boilers. The "£500" is in the quotation cost not the boiler cost. Scrutinise the quotes for other issues which might explain the £500.

Is the glow worm the ultracom 2?, I have these and they are a really good boiler with weather compensation unit available as a cheap add on. I get a bit fed up of cracked heat exchangers on worcester cdi's and leaks on the vaillants from the diverter valves. The duo-tec used to suffer from fans and pcbs though I'm not sure if these now ship with improved components now.

I suggest you do a forum search on Baxi and then reconsider!
Differences in install costs will have little to do with the boiler itself, but the installer.

OP: What combi do you have now?
Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)

Compare the BAXI price with the rest.

If Glowworm Ultracom 2 is on the cards, get the boiler pack with the wireless programmer Climapro 2 RF.

Five year warranty on most makes.

You should also check out Intergas combis.

    a) I currently have a Vailant Combi fitted in 1998 now broke & water flow ridiculous & never been that hot that you would need to add cold water
    b) The fitting of the BAXI is £500 less than a different quote for Valiant or Worcester.
    c) Sounds like the Glowworm might be an option
    d) What I am trying to establish is the difference in quality of each manufacturer & whether it is worth paying £400+ extra for a Valiant or Worcester. My thoughts are not but just want to be sure that BAXI & Glowworm are ok makes? Not at all impressed with existing Valiant that we have had since 1998.

Put it this way, it's definitely not worth saving £400 by fitting a Baxi.

Why do you say that? Not been impressed with Vailant.
