Three network complaint

I've been with '3' and nevef had any complaints. When something goes wrong they've always sorted it.
However I now have quite a big complaint! I got a new contract around 12 months ago (18 month contract). After 6 months 3 allow you to lower your contract to the next tariff down every month. I rang up to knock it down again and they now say it costs £25 to do this!!!! I wouldnt mind if this was in my contract to start with but can they legally change their costs half way through my contract??

Companies these days seem to work on the premise that customers have no rights unless they are prepared to take them to court. I would get in touch with trading standards and ask them their thoughts as it depends on the contract you signed. No company should be allowed to change a contract to your detriment but it would depend on the wording of your original contract.0

I would expect them to honour the terms & conditions as per when you upgraded.
I would contact the executive office, and say that you expect them to honour the original arrangement or you wish to leave without charge.
Their e-mail is executive.office@three.co.uk0 -
finally received a response from '3':
"I'm sorry to hear that you're unhappy about the £25.00 charge for downgrading
the price plan. We'll definitely take this as a feedback.
We want you to be on a price plan that suits you best. But when you joined 3,you agreed to commit to a certain monthly line rental for a fixed contract term. By agreeing to downgrade your plan, we're reducing this agreed commitment.
Also if you check on our website it clearly mentions that we reserve the right
to change our terms and conditions without prior notice."
I cant believe they stuck the last line about them reserving the right to change the conditions and terms. I cant wait to finish this contract and be done with '3'‘It ain’t over 'til it's over’0 -
Don't think you'll find it any different with any of the other companies. 3 changed their downgrade charges I think partly to stop some of the shadier retailers doing dodgy cashback deals and tariff shuffles. This may not help you in your situation, but 3 have generally been tightening up on T&Cs and their resellers in an attempt to improve their overall service. Will it work ?? Remains to be seen...........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

3 got back in touch as I still wasnt happy.
they have now changed their pricing again!!!
They are now offering 4 free downloads a year, which is better. However, they still havent give me back the £25 they charged me for the downgrade last month!! They are really annoying me now Hopefully I can get this back and downgrade for free next month‘It ain’t over 'til it's over’0
