Sofas & Stuff Sofa Problems

Hi all,
I am having an ongoing dispute with 'Sofas and Stuff' and I would really appreciate some advice on my consumer rights.

We purchased a new sofa (which we hoped would be our sofas for life) for £1600 and had the sofa delivered around the 19/12/11, a few weeks later it had become apparent that there was an audible squeak in the sofa structure on one side of the back rest. At first I thought it would settle in and disappear but after a month the noise was getting worse.

I called Sofas and Stuff who sent out an independent inspector to view and test the sofa. He agreed with me that there was a problem and advised he would send on his report to 'Sofas and stuff'. 'Sofas and stuff' reported back to me (after some very bad customer service issues) that his report was inconclusive and that they would need to investigate further. They collected the sofa for inspection and repair on 20/03/12.

The sofa was then returned to me on 13/04/12, but before the delivery men left I made sure to check to see if the squeak had been fixed. It hadn't so I refused to accept the delivery and the delivery men had to take it back to the depot.

Sofa's and Stuff have since advised that one of there board members has personally taken a round trip of 150 miles to inspect the sofa and he does not think there is a squeak and that the sofa is up to 'specification'. (I am astounded that he didn't think to call me to clarify my concerns when he could not find the problem I had described... but anyway.)

Sofa's and stuff are now saying that if I want my sofa back I have to pay an extra £100 to cover the cost of delivery as they don't believe there is a problem with the sofa.

In an email to them yesturday, I asked if it would be possible for me to meet someone at the factory so I could show them in person where the squeak was, but they have refused my request.

Where do I stand with this issue and what should be my next move? I am very very reluctant to pay £100 to get a faulty sofa back in my possession :( but can't afford to lose all that money.

Any help and advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
