no. those stats relate to deaths and serious injuries.
what about stats for damage claims?
I have an old couple next door. bought a new car about 2 years ago.
its slowly getting covered in little bumps and scrapes.
No deaths or injuries, but for insurance purposes it could still cost them money.

Under the terms of a contract of insurance "accidents should be reported to the insurer"
Each bunp and scrape is an accident, I wonder if they have all been reported. Do you report every "accident" you have?

As has been pointed out by Millie Millsters, statistics prove you wrong. ;)

like what? I do very low mileage in the car
I can't recall any 'accident' since around 2000,where a car clipped me turning right as I waited to come out of a junction.
I'm a pretty boring driver these days.car goes from a to B,thats it.

Your ability may have deteriorated, but not everyone above 60 ability to drive has declined. Try telling that to Moss_2195715c.jpg

Perhaps you can read this and confirm whether you do or do not agree with

I wasn't getting at you. I was using the example you put up of the multi bumped car near you. Those accidents should have been reported. Did yoy do them?:rotfl:

I see you also are aware of your age related decreasing abilities

The quiote said" If you are 60+ and aren't aware your abilities have declined and a danger to others.

If you bother to read it you will see it is the arrogant refusal to acknowledge that abilty declines with age that makes the danger not the age.

Lighten up dude, there is no need for the abuse. :kisses:

I am well aware that everyone's physical ability declines with age ..... long before age 60. For most of us, the ability to drive safely does not.

and perhaps you missed this part
what about stats for damage claims?

in the context of insurance costs and age (which relates to this thread)
stats on deaths & injuries are not the only factor that would affect an insurers policy costs.

    I did notice that part.

I have not seen any evidence to support your opinion that older drivers have more minor accidents. Even if I did agree, I would suggest the cost of one serious accident would outweigh the cost of several fender benders. The insurance industry study these and many other factors. They have chosen to load premiums for younger inexperienced drivers and reduce the cost for more mature experienced drivers.

Perhaps you can respond to my question?
