I've just booked 3 nights camping at the cleethorpes Thorpe park site, has anyone been to this one before and if so is it good for kids (aged 4, 10,12,13)?0

Hi I can highly recommend Quay West we went there last year and it's lovely quiet but in a lovely spot, my favourite is Hafan y Mor especially it's just down the road fantastic Haven with great fascillities!!0

I hated Quay West, but that's going back a good few years now ...
Caerphilly to Porthmadog came out at 3 hrs 8 mins on Google directions - although I suppose that's not really reliable with rural roads.0 -
Stayed at Weymouth Bay a few years ago and thoroughly loved it - it was much quieter than a lot of the other Haven sites, the walk to the beach was quite a way though.
We arent far away from Porthmadog, I can vouch for how long it takes to get to South Wales! However we now go to Parkdean's Trecco Bay near Porthcawl, its a 3 and half hour trip but we break it up with a picnic on the way. It far exceeds Haven in my opinion and would be a lot closer for you.I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

Have tried the AA route finder and it claims Hafen y Mor is 4 hours 2 mins away, my mum used to live in Penryndeudraeth so I know from past experience that its close to 4 hours, it can be done in less but only if your lucky enough not to get stuck behind slow moving tractors!!
Don't fancy trying Porthcawl as we go there quite regularly on day trips during the summer - its only about 45 mins from where we are, and we like going to new places and exploring the area if the weather is nice enough.
Have decided on a short list of Quay West and Rockley Park, if they are fully booked on the dates we want then we'll probably try Kiln Park or Littlesea again, as at least we know they are close to nice beaches.0 -
hi i have used haven sites with and without the sun for about 15years now and the best ive found round near your location has to hafan y mor it is one of the best haven sites i have used hope this helps
Glad to read this, as this is what I bookedThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
Hi Gpark, we live in the Rhondda Valley and like to go on hols about the same distance as you. Our BIG favorite is Quay West - just love New Quay. Sometimes for a change we go to Burnham-on-Sea, that's not too far. Also Pendine Sands is a lovely site and not too far - this is Parkdean, not Haven. Hope you find something suitable!0

Rookly park sounds like it could be what you are looking for - we were a tad disappointed that the site was smaller than devon cliffs but its flagship one! The place is VERY clean and the spa was lovely, a tad odd that the enterance to the pool was through the resturant but they were working on it. Have a great break x0

We've ended up booking Burnham on Sea, had my heart set on Rockley Park but went through every option date wise on Wednesday night and the only available dates for Rockley Park were 31st August or 3rd September which we can't do this year as my ds is starting school 3rd September.
Only Haven sites available for the dates in July we wanted were Burnham on Sea or Seaview. Having looked at the sites on the Haven site we decided Burnham on Sea looked most suitable because of the nearby beach.
Hoping that Rockley Park will be available in the July promotion - last year we were able to book to go to Devon Cliffs in Oct half term in the July promotion, so hoping to be able to get Rockley Park then instead - which on the bright side may actually be for the best as ds2 will be 2 that week so we could take him to Peppa Pig World rather than having a birthday party.0
