Only WinXP Home has this weird behaviour that it hides the Administrator account (which doesn't have a password) in normal mode and only enables it when you boot in safe mode giving everyone access to everything.

Yr last paragraph. Standard settings this is true, however the settings may be changed so that the admin account shows on normal boot, along with any user accounts. I am not suggesting that you would normally do this, but there are occasions when this would be useful.

Where I worked you had something to lose if you tried this i.e. your job. You had signed an agreement regarding computer use and internet use and amongst the things it specifically disallowed was trying to install your own software(which included different browsers or versions of browsers). Advising someone to break these regulations which are common to most firms is not a wise thing to do even if they might get away with it in the short term.

True if you work for firms with large networks, and inhouse support. But many many small companies don't apply the same standards or structures. I have just a little experience of working in both.
