Old IE Version

I am having trouble accessing my Noodle account. I keep getting the error message "Did you know that your Internet Explorer is out of date"
However, I am using a PC that I do not have admin rights to upgrade, therefore I am stuck with IE7.
I get this error on quite a few websites, but usually there is a cross that allows me to close this box and continue to the website regardless. However I do not get this on the Noodle website.
Is there another way I can close this box? I have tried google, but I can't seem to find an answer.
Help appreciated.

The short answer is probably not without upgrading IE.
What version are you using (go into Help and About to find out)?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
You could try using another web browser?
There is a version of FireFox that doesnt require installing and so you can run it even without admin rights and works fine with Noddle http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/0 -
Thanks for your replies, I am using IE7.
The portable firefox suggested is also blocked.
It is really annoying they won't let you access the site at all without upgrading. I guess I will just have to wait until the software is upgraded (which, knowing our IT people, will be never!!)0 -
ALT + F4 together may close the message box.How do I add a signature?0

What version of Windows are you using? I suspect XP if on IR7
If using XP you can boot into safe mode (with networking) and use the admin account to download and install IE8. You could also change your profile to include admin rights which may be helpful going fwd.
Get into safe mode by clicking on F8 immediately after the BIOS loads, or the flash screen goes.0 -

I get the impression the OP is using a workplace computer, so your suggestion may not be wise/possibleHow do I add a signature?0 -

Maybe so, any firm that continues to use IE7 is also unwise and really deserve all they get. I would still go into safemode and try to use the admin account to download ie8.
If you are right and the lappie is a workplace unit, then the firm should have blocked this anyway, if not, again maybe a sign of poor management. However it is also possible this is a second hand ex-workplace lappie, which has not been properly re-configured prior to disposal?
Lets see what the OP comes back with?0 -

Unlikely, given what the OP statesHow do I add a signature?0 -
The O/S is XP.
Alt and F4 doesn't work either - thanks for the suggestion though.
It is a workplace PC and I don't want to get in trouble changing my settings.
Thanks for all your thoughts!
I'm sure at some point in the future it will get upgraded and I can access it again. It will probably be upgraded to the newest version about 2 months after that is out of date!!0 -
Can you use USB sticks? If you can then you could put portable FireFox onto a usb from home and then bring it in. Alternatively find some free webhosting, download it at home, upload it to your free webhosting, download it at work.
Seems a lot of hassle to just see one poor website though.0
