No tips sorry- am trawling the boards now for a recipe as I haven't made them before. My son is into "helping" in the kitchen at the moment and I thought we could make something together.

edit - I'm going to half the quantities and use this recipe but without the ginger.

The recipe I use is like this one - about half way down - tinned tuna fishcakes. I also use salmon or crab, instead.
If they're greasy, it may be because your oil isn't hot enough. Don't use much, but make sure your pan is really hot before putting the fish cake in.

Hi everyone, I have an extra person in the house until wednesday and I'm working in London for the week too, so quick food (or slow cooker!) this week!
Sunday: roast pork, roast potatoes, braised red cabbage and peas
Monday: baked potatoes and left over bolognese sauce with cheese
Tuesday: Pasta with shredded chicken and pesto
Wednesday: Toulouse sausages and lentil bake (slow cooker)
Thursday: OH cooking
Friday: Might try fishcakes (having been inspired by you lot!) - my mum always uses tinned pilchards and they are great - I don't normally eat fish and I'll eat these. Green salad.
Saturday: HM Chicken passanda and rice
Have a great week all!cel x

Mon Pasta, beans and cheese
Tues Quorn shepherds pie and peas
Weds Egg and potato wedges
Thurs Toad in the hole, mixed veg and gravy
Fri Lasgne
Sat Pie and mash and veg
Breakfast will be toast or cereal and lunch sandwiches as usual.
Have a good week everyone:rotfl:

Penny Pincher - is the celery soup a starter or do you cook your chops in it or use it as a sauce? I've got celery I could do with using up.
I love celery soup. Soften chopped celery inc leaves, leeks and potatoes in oil or butter. Add stock (veg or chicken, stock cube if needed). Celery seeds are a great addition if you have them, if not lots of freshly ground pepper. Cook until veg cooked~20 mins.
Liquidize some or all if you like. Cream or milk can be added for a creamier soup. As is it can be very healthy as part of a diet.
I love it with homemade bread.
