No point if not comfortable with it as there would always be that nagging doubt and the fact that at some point you would have a fairly major cost to at some point replace it all.

I wouldn't rule out places with highly specced conservatories as modern ones with decent treated glass can be very good, but they should be as they will have cost the owner probably as much as a "real" extension!
