Did a bit of a food shop on the way home from work as DH was moaning about not having crunchy nuts
and DD was moaning because we hadnt got her red berries (not that she's dieting the amount of snacks she eats )
Since home I
have gone to check DD'd walked doogie since she'd been in which if course she has, but friendly argument then ensued as dog has dry feet (must have dried out), there are no muddy footprints (no it was dry) you couldnt have done it in that time (i did mum honest) you couldnt have done it in that time, and made your cheese toasties, burnt the toasties, scraped the black off the toasties, ate the toasties and cleared away trying to hide the evidence of the toasties and walked the dog (I did mum :rotfl:) so I cleared out our current shortage of bowls from under her bed and found 1 large ceral bowl, 1 small cereal bowl, 2 small icecream (I think) bowls, and 1 tub that had contained white chocolate and cranberry fudge.
made a cuppa (which is still brewing somewhere - need to retrieve and see if drinkable)
and amalgamated the contents of 2 clean washing baskets so I've got one for dirtys.
Now I guess I should think about food as DH will be home in half an hour
TTFN
PS Dusty you had to tell him really, its so embarrassing for them to find out at secondary school
and hope all the poorlies improve soon, too many for my poor confuddled brain to rememberMortgage, paid off!0 -
Huge hugs Dusty - far better he asked you and you told the truth than he asked at school and got twisted stories from others.
When someone told DS1 at school he wanted to know why I had lied to him, and why it was fine to lie when it suits me
.
Nothing much done yet, did lots last night but we are back to a tip. Minimum of bins emptied and out, DW, TD and a good hoover required just to stand still.
sorry i made you feel worse dusty but i have to agree with hex better you gave him an honest answer than he had the mick taken out of him at school and felt silly, mine im sure dont tell their friends away from home of their beliefs (or not) or they probally say they have to humor their daft mum;)SPC~12 ot 124

They probably say they believe to make sure he keeps on turning up... I left home 20 years ago, but I still expect him to turn upmrs-moneypenny wrote: »sorry i made you feel worse dusty but i have to agree with hex better you gave him an honest answer than he had the mick taken out of him at school and felt silly, mine im sure dont tell their friends away from home of their beliefs (or not) or they probally say they have to humor their daft mum;)

FC is alive and well, he's inside anyone who helps another at that special time of year - if you give a gift, then you are helping him spread his cheer. FC's in shopping centre's aren't the real one, we never see him, mainly because he's part of every one of us.
I was told this many many years ago, and I think it's kind of neat - especially if it goes with a good explanation of what a gift is. Gifts to us aren't very commercial - more about time, visiting, listening, hugs etc.
Moam
who is sadly unprepared for this evening's meeting and is going to have to "wing it" (shudders - not a comfy feeling)Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

I have ordered them:D:D:D:D:D:Dthrough Quidco:money:Not least because the kids have new shoes...
re FC I agree with MOAM - it's within us all;)
mind you I had to tell DD as I didn't want her going up to the comp with that idea then, as an afterthought added in tooth fairy information - at which point she was VERY cross!
(I think the phrase I used was 'and while I'm at it how are you on the tooth fairy?' and the say Librans are diplomatic :rotfl:)
Piggers - my mum was an only child, so she had her parent's house to clear, we also had to 'do' both my Great Aunt's houses, so knick-knacks were stored in mum's attic; partly because she wasn't ready to let them go. She had hung onto lots of stuff - I once watched a TV programme where a mirror was shown just like the one she had when I was little - mentioned it and she confessed she still had it, in the attic! She probably still has it, actually, because I haven't spotted it yet. So when she does decide to let go of stuff some comes here and I know she has been to the charity shop with bagfuls, too!
Mind you I have the elephants that my Great Aunt had - and they are NOT to be sold. Now she died in 2005 so I could have had them then! I did get the Sylvac bunny and he's a keeper;) I've also got a heavy lead crystal ashtray, which was my Grandad's. No-one smokes. But you could lay someone out with it, no problem;)
DD's possible prom dress it looks much better on DD (who is a size 6) and fits beautifully!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I can 'nip' there from work (10/15 mins) and can get there reasonably well from here, now.

Good evening

DH cleaned up the kitchen, cleared a hotspot in the hall, cleared the top of the bookcases on the landing (involved putting 2 printers in the loft!) and even ventured into DD's bedroom!!! He is very brave!
I have managed to wash & dry 1 load of washing, complete 1 task for my uni stuff, contact 3 potential new childminders (I have taken on a support role - i obviously don't have enough to do! :rotfl:), emailed the vets with details of Advocate (super duper flea/worm stuff) online so they can price match it :money:
The dog went back to the vets yesterday, and he is really pleased with him - doesn't need to see him again (had an op on his hind leg about 5 weeks ago). the insurance have settled up with them (I didn't have to do anything
) and I am £22 in credit!!
DD2 had her photography AS exam today - she seems pleased
Had parents evening tonight. I think it's a case of mistaken identity. they were talking about someone who was polite, attentive, helpful, team-player.... wasn't describing anyone i know!!
Or maybe that's just how she treats me! Anyway - proud mummy moment
Full day of work tomorrow, so I shall see how we go. Painting planned for the morning, so may have some cleaning up to do!
Hugs & spoons to those that need them. night night all0
