Sorry if my opinion differs to yours but this is a money saving site and being seduced by the price of cheap tat is rarely money saving in the long run
If you do go into a dealer wanting to buy a Modus then (after the salesman has finished doing cartwheels) bargain hard. As long as its not red, and Postman Pats not queuing behind you, you should be able to name your price. Just double check the headlights are working
Just a thought but have you considered a Honda Jazz?
Opinions aren't moneysaving, especially misguided ones, Jazz is ok, but nowhere near as economical.0 -
Jazz is ok, but nowhere near as economical.
The other halves Honda Jazz (an early 1.4 petrol) averaged well over 50mpg over many months. There is lots of discussion on here about whether diesels are worth it, but for a petrol engine, at the time it was excellent
Another option if you like the 'ability to drive in a top hat' Modus styling would be the Toyota Yaris Verso - they did diesel versions of that0 -
every breakdown survey and satisfaction survey says the same thing, statistically a French car is more likely to have problems.
He's right, I suggest you read the last 3 JD Power surveys for an informed view on where french cars sit in the satisfaction league. I'll save you the time...When looking down the manufacturers list dont look higher than the bottom third.
There is however the odd surprise, for example the Modus (ref the OP) was once rated 43rd out of 100 IIRC (or therabouts) probably because the owners hadnt yet had to fork out for a garage to change a headlight bulb. :rotfl:0
