Where do I stand????????

  • Congratulations. Now what drives the speedo sender? Component 4. The one not on the data diagram which is probably going to be a sender drive gear inside the gearbox. Or the ring gear if it uses a magnetic or optical sensor on the wheel.

You obviously didn't understand the point being made by continuing to demonstrate you can read but don't know sufficient enough to know what you should actually be reading in addition to what you have been which would have given you the complete picture instead of the 50% you currently have.

    Gents,

I have not come on here to discuss about components like the one mentioned above which dont even belong on my bike nor have i come on here to test peoples knowledge about different systems or prove that apparently i have limited knowledge but at least i am trying. I obviously wasnt born with the knowledge some of you guys were about motorcycle tacho problems. The main thread question I had at the begining was "What rights have I at the moment?
What am I legally eligible for if the speedo isn't fixed?"

As the bike is new and i have limited knowledge of Consumer Rights, i wanted an answer or help from people or persons who had dealt with issues similar to the ones I am going through that is all. It is down to the dealer to rectify the faults I merely was investigating the faults for my own self gratification/understanding of the system. All i want is not to have been sold a duff bike and that is all.

But thankyou for all your feedback even though some of which was not initially read correctly by some of you as those persons would have realised that i wanted to know where i stood if the bike was not fixed by the dealer..:rotfl:

i cant answer your question bellboy but if they have ruled out head and speed sensor then it must be a problem with the can bus wiring
    hardly impossible to sort
    your dealer sounds pants
you have to give them chance to repair before you reject
personally i would find another dealer with some nogging to fix what would be in my opinion a simple fault
  • A thousand Thanks go to mikey72 and to neilmcl, whom have given me the feedback i was after and now I am learning what i needed to know so thankyou again gents.

I will give the dealer more time to fault find and investigate and then hopefully after Tuesdays second attempt request from the dealer the options available to me. Ideally i would like a replacement scooter as i am happy with what it does for me - just getting me to and from work. Have a drink gents Cheers!!

Notmyrealname - you better do a bit more swatting up mate!!

No strictly true. As the fault was discovered pretty much straight away, and at least well within a reasonable period, the OP was entitled to reject for a full refund. However, as he's already gone down the repair route then yes he has to give them a reasonable time to repair so long as it doesn't cause the OP a significant inconvenience.
