Life is too short to waste ironing knickers.
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

I iron my linen teatowels. Have a mix of terry and linen to work through. I tend to buy the linen ones at thrift stores. The louder, and more souvenirish the better. My family love them. Have a stash of Australian ones, UK, etc.

The sad thing is they are mainly from countries that no longer exist or no longer have textile industries.

I drain my soaked chips on them but would never drain the fried ones on a tea towel, how the hell do you get the oil stains out? I buy a six pack of the cheapest paper towels for draining chips. I can't remember when I bought my last pack.

    :T Brilliant quotations both.

My name is Luxor and I iron teatowels ....but not knickers.
My treat as a kid was to iron the tea towels & hankies. I think it was the combination of the dangerous hot iron & the clean smell of the starch - my mum knew a thing or two about child psychology.

E-How says "The name "tea towel," originating in mid-19th century England, referred to the linen towel used by the lady of the house to clean her china teapot and serving ware. She trusted only herself with the task of cleaning and taking care of these delicate and important pieces."
I suppose it links to "tea cloth" which my gran called any small embroidered table cloth.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Oh, yes. My tea towels might be see-through, holey , stained and generally grotty, but they are IRONED.

Doesn't make them any less disgusting to look at but THEY DON'T HAVE CREASES!:D

I like my tea towels to be designer and I get pleasure from seeing them hanging in the kitchen. My favourites are Emma Bridgewater and Cath Kidston. I do actually use them as well.:)
