Tea towels

I try to keep my kitchen hand towels (IKEA, 19p.) for drying my hands, tea towels for drying things and paper towels for mopping up spills, etc. Meanwhile, back in the real world ...
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Nice quality proper linen tea-towels are the things I'm always on the look-out for in charity shops. Any florid or garish designs, I don't mind. I have altogether too many of them. I suspect they will outlive me.0

I'm the sort of person who refularly washes sponge scourers too, much to my friends amauzement, she thinks I am mad, as they are only £1 for about 20, but I don't use them till there is no life in them, I probably use one over 2 or 3 days then wash them and roate, sad I know, but I've always done it.0

Well I dont use mine to mop up doggy pee like the woman did in the programme I just watched on Catch Up TV - The Syndicate. Now that was very enlightening!
LOL, I didn't see that programme however I do use mine for that sort of thing.I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -

Thank you for sharing this. My lady friend now doesn't think I'm quite so weird, using cheap ones (ASDA SmartPrice, 5 for 14p) and replacing them every month.

I've got loads of those 19p Ikea towels, I use them as tea towels then when they're past their best they're cut up for floor cloths, dusters, cleaning rags etc.Stephen_Leak wrote: »I try to keep my kitchen hand towels (IKEA, 19p.) for drying my hands, tea towels for drying things and paper towels for mopping up spills, etc. Meanwhile, back in the real world ...

I buy supermarket own brand non-scratch scourers (the ones with the white scoury bit) I don't wash them but once they're past their best they're replaced and the old one goes up into the bathroom for cleaning the bath and sink.Stephen_Leak wrote: »Thank you for sharing this. I have 2 types. One absorbent type for drying hands and dishes and one for laying over any baking that is on the cooling rack (stops the cats from giving everything a taste test!).0

I have loads of tea-towels, I use them for everything, I dry the dishes and then use them to wipe down all the surfaces and the washing bowl, they only get used once and then straight into the washing, same as washing cloths and scourers. My pet hats is seeing a used tea-towel hanging to dry on the oven door.0

Don't come here then :pthe oven door is great place to dry a damp towel LOL, however I don't use them on wet pots just for drying my hands and getting things out of the oven, also to insulate the warmed plates from the cool stone work surface whilst serving up...0
