...And now it's shipped
MikeT, if I was female I'd gladly have your babies - thanks again dude.
Any one else had theirs shipped?0 -
My TFT £233 deal has just been updated from pre-production to production aswell!!!
I'm going to keep this one as the £177 seemed to be very well made and quiet, just a shame about the no agp slot!
If any one knows a motherboard that will be a straight swap with dell's with a agp slot let me know please,thanksabout:blank0 -
i remember a discussion about this with the outcome that one of the p4 800fsb asus boards married with the main chassis. I can't remember any more but I'm sure a google search will throw it up. Board would be £45-55 I guess (online) less delivery.0

Just guessing here; this board might be suitable as it's micro-atx:

Goes for about £50.
Do Dell Motherboards go for much on eBay ? :P
I'm not that bothered about AGP, but onboard Serial-ATA would be nice. Then again it'd be cheaper to just buy a Serial-ATA PCI card but that will use up a precious PCI slot...
Also I need more than two 5 1/4 drive bays, so I think I'll go for a new case with a full sized motherboard instead.
PS. Also just noticed I got my £3.50 -ish rebate from Greasypalm0 -
Quote from another non-uk based board (i think) supports the board charlie12 identified. I'm sure they wouldn't mind...
"My DELL DImension 3000 definately had scew holes in exactly the same places as a new ASUS p4p800 VM mobo that I just bought from http://Newegg.com. I reused the OEM DELL power supply as well. Both DELL and ASUS mobos had the exact same 2 PSU connectors in almost the same places. I also reused the OEM DELL memory (PC3200). Everything lined up perfectly, every screw hole, connector, and back pannel, and PCI/AGP slots. THe processor was in the exact same place, so I also reused the DELL fan and shrould and heat sink. There were only 2 minor things I had to change: (1) I had to take the CPU heatsink holder (the black plastic thing) off of the ASUS board and replace it with the one that was on my DELL mobo. The ASUS clip is held on by 4 plastic snap-in studs into the mobo, but the DELL clip is hel on by 4 screws. These screws go through the mobo and into the case. This was no problem since both mobos had holes in these 4 locations also, and both had grounding pads in the board at these locations. (2) The only change that took a little time was rewiring the on/off switch and leds. The DELL connector does not plug in to the ASUS board. This is a simple mod though.."0 -
Sounds great, nice find0
