Switch it off, if you are not prepared to read the manual, perhaps it is the data being used that is reducing your credit, or it could be you have subscribed to premium texts etc

Turn off data, or purchase a monthly data bundle to ensure it becomes more cost effective. Alternative, when the phone is off, it cannot use services and will not affect your remaining credit.

    I wasn't given a manual.
    I haven' subscribed to anything.
so nothing to do with not being prepared

I don't understand why people get so funny if you don't want to answer then don't.

I always understood that this is the area to ask for help , is that not the case?

I have the same phone and, like you, didn't get a (paper) manual but that is the norm nowadays.

It looks as if grumbler has given you a link to the full manual on Samsungs website and I suggest you save this pdf onto your pc for future reference.

As already mentioned the manuals are electronic nowadays, you must accept all answers will not be wrapped in cotton balls, so I'm not being funny, although I do find a lot of attention seekers (their case is special and unique) , anyways hopefully you will find the answer in the manual and get the issue resolved
