Check with your doctor, but I read somewhere that cranberry juice was good as there is something in it that helps prevent bacteria from sticking to your insides.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Tried cranberry. I haven't got interstitial cystitis, its caused by my lupus. Just fed up of it now. Docs have got me on sodium bicarbonate pills. CT scan showed severe damage and scarring on my right kidney. Have been offered a removal but what if my lupus just attacks the other one??
Gonna go herbal shop today. See what they can give me xxThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

I believe there was some research done in care homes where UTIs are very common. A wineglassful of cranberry juice daily was given as a preventive measure. IIRC this was successful.

this isnt medical advice but if you can drink as much water as you can it will help flush the infection out of your system even thought causes you extra pain for now
water is available low cost and thats money saving0 -
I always have some Waterfall D-Mannose powder in the house if I get Cystitis, its very good and has good reviews. You can get it in tablets or powder. I got mine online at sweetcures.com, if you looks at the site it tells you more about it. They tell you not to take Cranberry which I always did as I thought it was good for cystitis but apparently not.0

Oops, I was going to say applying natural yoghurt might help, but I've mixed up medical conditions - I think that's for candida

Lemon barley is brilliant for getting rid of cystitis. Its got to be the robinson one though because it contains the most barley.0

Cranberry juice is thought to help in prevention but not cure - you need to drink it regularly not just when you get an attack. It used to help my friend, she had infections off and on for years partly due to limited mobility from her MS.:hello:0
