    I don't know about 10%. I always tip 20% in the US.

Maybe I'm too generous. Mind you, a friend of mine caused a riot in a NY restaurant when he only tipped 10%. That may have something to do with it.
  • In the U.S. i always tip taxi drivers at least 20%.

For example, if the fare was $12, i would give the driver $15. Dont scrabble about for change lol, just tip up to the next dollar :)

Nothing, US taxi drivers are overpriced con artists and from me the best they'd get is a round up to the nearest Dollar.
As for tipping elsewhere I usually leave $2 on the table in restaurants and rarely tip for anything else.

People in the UK get hung up on tipping, it's not a legal obligation so don't worry about it.

20%. It's not a legal obligation but it's customary and workers are by and large taxed on the assumption they have received tips. When in Rome.....

I Normally work on 15% for a taxi.
Always scan the check in a restaurant as many now pre tip before the final total ... And if it was poor don't be shy of letting them know !!!
Bartender $1 a drink up to $3 total, if sitting at the bar old leave one tip at the end of the session.
    Bellboys $1 a bag.
Make sure you have 20 odd $1 bills on hand for odds and sods.
It's their culture and they will soon make you aware if you are not in line ... But do not forget you are the customer and if you feel you have not got the service then let them know !!!

20% is customary for good service -If I get a rude driver or one yapping down his mobile -I tip less- although you may find there is an assumption that because you are British in Florida that you will be "reminded" because Brits have a bad rep for stiffing on tips. Depends if you want to do the customary thing or be regarded as cheap and ignorent .

Tipping per drink in a busy bar will get you better service than tipping at the end.

15-20% for a taxi driver depending how it rounds up.
