Chris please follow the advice given already, I went to this car park on Thursday and waved the knuckle dragger issuing invoices as I left the car park to go to TGIs on wind street, I came back to an invoice that I will be ignoring as well. I didn't even tell anyone here as I know it's a scam.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

i've tried appealing due to mitigating circumastamces for overstaying in the Parc Tawe car park swansea and they have still stated that the charge stands. I also rang them up trying to get rid of it with no use and reiterating unless i paid by 7th june, the fine will rise from £60 to £100. i told her i could not afford this as a student and all she offered was to make a note on the system of a longer payment plan. is ignorance still the best option or will they chase me?

Chris- for goodness sake! If you're a student I assume you are able to read? :rotfl:So spend a bit of time reading the HUNDREDS of threads which all tell you: Don't appeal. Don't write. Don't phone. If you have already done any of these, then stop doing them immediately.

This is a scam. It is NOT official. They have ZERO power and so will anyone else who contacts you pretending to be a debt collector or even pretending to be a solicitor.

ALL FAKE. They copy councils to try and make you think there is some obligation to pay.

There isn't. Ignore them from now on and they WILL give up and disappear. I should know, I have seen off over 80 of these joke tickets with two more in the pipeline now.

    Trust us!

Hope you weren't on the phone to long, these robbers charge 52p per min from a land line, goodness knows what it cost from a mobile.

And the longer payment plan? How about £0.00 a month until it is paid off? Sounds about right. Send them the instalments in an unstamped envelope, soon they will be begging you to go away.

Offering payment terms without a CCA, I hope it wasn't longer then 3 months or 3 payments?

However agree (in your own mind) to pay em £0 per month for the next 3 months until your balance of £0 is cleared! ;)
  • thanks all, was my first run in with this type of thing and wasn't sure how to handle it but you've all put my mind at ease and im awaiting the fake court/solicitor/bailiff letters ready to throw in the bin. :D
