Excel Parking Fine, Pac Tawe Swansea

I've had a good read of a few sticky's and Google result threads on here, relating to Excel in Swansea and I think the other popular one was Peel in Manchester. I read the threads and watched a Watchdog clip someone linked to with a solicitor basically saying private parking fines are a joke.
Basically they were pretty dated, like 2 years, so I'm just wondering is the advice still the same? I've had the first letter today which was sent on the 16/4. Standard really, ANPR of the front and back of my car demmanding £60 within 14 days or £100 thereafter and possible court action. I admit I stayed well beyond the three hours it (apparently) allows, even though I don't remember seeing that on a sign. I was 90 minutes over, so if anyone feels the need to comment criticising my judgement or whatever, can they please keep it to themselves.
I just want to know if the standard procedure is "ignore ignore ignore" until they give up, or if there's now a different road to take, and does the amount of time I stayed over affect the advice?
Thanks for any help.

Just ignore. Nothing has changedWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

No change there. Just ignore. You will be threatened with this that and the other, but after they reach the limit of what they are prepared to lose chasing someone who is too smart to respond they will give up and drop the whole thing.
If you ignore them they cannot take you to court anyway- despite the promises that they will- since the only person they could sue would be the driver and if you keep totally shtum they have no means of knowing (let alone proving) who that was. And, unlike the police, they have no power to make the registered keeper tell them.

Contract Law hasn't changed significantly for many decades. The advice is still as before.Je Suis Cecil.0

Trust me there is no concern here, I have had a few run ins with excel in parc tawe after going to wind street for a meal etc, and over staying by going to the cinema. It's a piece of toilet paper you've had, just ignore utterly their outlandish threats.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Seeing as Parc Tawe is a double car park (each side of a road) with a double retail park (each side of the road) on the edge of town AND with a cinema and at least one pizza "restaurant " ON SITE and another cinema nearby, with dozens of other eateries near - then Excel are "coining" it with the sadly unaware motorist. My friends have been caught here - but too late for me to help them.
Even if you STAY on the ONE site and ONLY go for a film and a meal you almost automatically "overstay" - yet there is no means to pay a reasonable hourly rate for parking. It's zero to a £60 "overstay charge" after 3 hours. It always surprises me that the retailers there don't understand that their site is notorious for all the wrong reasons locally (as in - don't shop there - they shaft you for parking).
As always - just IGNORE them. If they were unwise enough to take me on again I would have them on the signage - which is generally too small to be read by anyone over 40, and thus could be clearly argued to break "accessibility" requirements, let alone all the other aspects of so called carpark management we discuss here.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Thing is they used to have those machines there that you could pay to stay there over the amount of time stayed, but they found that they were not scamming enough people and changed it to the current system. Don't forget though as well as a cinema that has films on for well over two hours, it has the bowling alley as well. No wonder the place is empty though with scammers in the car park, and a nightmare to get out of there when it is busy.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. Nice to hear from someone who's been through this exact car park, thanks. And thanks to James_N too. I think in future I'll park in the strand and pay. At least there they make it clear how much it'll be.0
