United Utilities am I paying too much?

Had my water bill and says it's £232 for the water and £262 for the wastewater charge. There are 4 flats in my building and they will all be getting charged the same I presume even the one bedsit?
Does this sound about right or shall I try asking for a water meter?0 -
Since we don't know anything about your property or it's RV, no-one can say if it's 'about right' or not. If you live alone in the property, a meter will almost certainly be cheaper.
Water charges vary by up to 250% depending on the region, so the charges derived from the same RV in another region will vary greatly.
The flats will be charged according to the rateable value of each property-same RV, same charge.
Apply for a meter, then if it costs you more you can go back to RV billing within the first 12 months-so you can't lose. If a meter cannot be fitted, you can apply for assessed billing instead. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
