Orange Care: HTC Desire replaced with HTC Wildfire S

Hello everyone,
Offered a HTC Wildfire S instead of an HTC Desire due to unavailable stock of Desire.
Orange care says:
"Replacement of Your Mobile Device will be made with an Orange branded product. The replacement product will wherever possible be of the same or similar specification at Our discretion.
The replacement may be from refurbished stock that has been tested and is fully functional."
Poorer CPU: 600MHz vs 1GHz
Battery life: shorter for calls and standby
Phone Memory: not as good
These are not the same or similar to my mind. Is this reasonable? I'm still locked into my contract. Have they breached their side of the bargain if they do not provide me with a reasonable phone?
Thanks for any advice.

screen 3.2" 320x480 instead of 3.5" 480x800
They are having a laugh.
The handsets are incomparable and it's absolutely unreasonable. Stick to your guns.
Desire is still available and costs new sim-free £333 at Prepaymania.

Wildfire S costs new just £179m (Expansis)
If they don't give you a normal phone, sue the !!!!!!!s though the small claims court.0 -
Desire S is the natural replacement from o2 on Desire handset failures, its the closest Orange will get to a like for like replacement from HTC.0

I'd argue the HTC One V is very close to the Desire, they're having a laugh with the Wildfire S .

Prove, please, that Wildfire S is more 'close' than, say, Xperia Ray.
EDIT: sorry, I thouth you meant Wildfire S, not Desire S.0 -
The desire S doesnt come close, no way should this be accepted0

Do you mean Wildfire S?0

Natural?! It may be 'natural' for O2 for obvious reasons, but doesn't look natural to me.
How do you define 'closest' and why it has to be 'from HTC'?

HTC think its the 'natural' replacement too - as do the insurance company who both replaced a broken Desire with a Desire S....
What 'obvious' reasons can you think of why this isn't the case?0 -

...its two years newer.
...20g lighter
...newer UI
...8 x the internal storage
...wireless n
...v4 bluetooth
...android 4 vs 2.2
how on earth is that very close?
whereas the Desire S
...its one year newer
...its 5g lighter
...same UI
...2 x internal storage
...wireless n
...same bluetooth
...android 2.3 v 2.2 (it can be upgrade to 4.0)
The Desire S, is, within HTC's product range, the closest replacement.
