'Surveyor' Ignored my No Sales Sign

Options
Yesterday I received a visit from someone wearing a lapel badge bearing the name SAVINGS ADVICE LTD who then proceeded to ask about my cavity wall and loft insulation.

I have no idea if they are a genuine company or not, but it does annoy me that these salesman think they can ignore my NO SALES CALLS notice by wearing an orange jacket over a business suit and calling themselves surveyors.

It is quite clear from their website that they are a direct sales company who hires salesmen, not surveyors!

I have an intercom too, but I can only use the intercom if he chooses to press the doorbell - he knocked instead!

The reason is that the outdoor bell/intercom is wireless and runs off batteries. I think I will now put a notice on the gate stating: CALLERS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, they are clearly not phased by the BEWARE OF THE DOG SIGN on the gate.
  • When I was coming home late one night my husband must have seen me from the window and picked up the intercom and made the noise down the phone that the little boy makes in 'the Ring' film makes, I could have killed him lol

I was considering one of those DOG ALARMS. It senses people approaching the door and makes a very realistic large dog bark!

If somebody knocks at my door and I'm not interested in what they're selling (be it Double Glazing or Religion) I politely tell them. To say "they deserve nothing but contempt" is terrible! These are just people (often with families) trying to make a living to pay the bills and avoid going on benefits.

If only there were enough "proper jobs" (whatever you think they are) for everybody.
    Can I help?

If they choose to ignore clear signs then "contempt" is the very least they deserve.
The law should be changed so unsolicited "knockers" can only bother those who display a sign indicating they are welcome.

Why not they are ignoring a sign the homeowner has put up

They get my contempt too I am sick of idiots who think that the sign doesn't mean them
