If you are installing and USING windows or any software then you are the END USER no matter how you try to word it. If you install and distribute then you are a system builder.. When the software is used you are using it as an end user.. when you are installing you could say you are a system builder..The SB license states

3.1 This is a limited license to distribute the individual software licenses or hardware units contained inside
this package. “Individual software license” means any individual software license that comes inside this
package, including software media, documentation, certificates of authenticity, end-user license agreements,
and security devices. “Hardware unit” means any hardware that comes in this package, including any hardwarerelated
software and user documentation.

That states that the license is for distributing the software not using it..Using the software comes under the END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT.

The fact you got a SB pack is the reason you dont have the OEM license. SB license does state that that license must be used for distributing the software with a complete system or non peripheral hardware. So therefore the end use of the OEM software WOULD have purchased the software with hardware. You are not allowed to give or sell the software on its own. But as you installed the software and using it as an end user then you are breaking the system builders license as you have not distributed the software to a third party

Just to repeat myself, I have not distributed a licence yet, so I haven't broken the licence have I. I agree with the distribution restrictions.

And why can't I be both the System Builder and the End-User?

You're missing the point. You don't have to distribute it, but you can't use it for yourself. If you use it for yourself, you're not a SB, you're an End User, and they fall under a totally different license agreement.

Thats why it states its a LIMITED LICENSE... You are LIMITED to INSTALL and DISTRIBUTE not INSTALL and USE thats just a plain OEM (not SB) SO therefore you have broken the SB license..

Anyway you will believe what you want but in the cold light of day you have broken your SB license with Microsoft. You would have been just as well buying an OEM (END USER) without hardware as the results are the same. I am not bothered what you did but you are on here giving wrong information to people.. I am just pointing out your mistake to others. If you tried to contact Microsoft over this license for support they would tell you to see the SYSTEM BUILDER as they are supposed to support the installed OS. Whereas with normal OEM they would try and help you (did with me anyway). As far as Microsoft would be concerned you bought your PC from someone with Vista already installed.
