Have recently purchased travel insurance from INSUREFOR, was just a straight forward policy, purchased on 18th march 2012, 3 weeks later i am diagnosed with Diabetes, got in touch with INSUREFOR the next day to change policy, but they said NO they cannot as they do not cover pre-existing medical conditions, they have said they will get me a new policy, but i will still have to pay the original one, which means that i have lost my money and have to purchase the new one with medical condition on, have rang them a few times and still they will not refund me the original policy amount, i take that as theft myself, help please...Rich...

Welcome to the world of diabetes. No airline is obligated to fly you anywhere. You won't be able to bungee jump, you won't be allowed to scuba dive unless on insulin and if you drive you have to inform the DVLA. If you're a bus driver you may well lose your job. On the plus side people with diabetes get an NHS prescription exemption card if on meds and a free annual sight test. You can head over to the low carb thread to get advice about diet.0
