would I be able to get this any cheaper

I took out a 24 month contract on an iphone for my adult daughter because she was unable to get a contract on her own due to debts. The arrangement was that she would pay the bill by DD straight into my bank account and the mobile company would send me the bill and collect it from my bank. This has been going well until this month, when her bill was £6 more than usual, taking the payment to £50. I asked her for the difference but she is not forth coming with the money. The contract is due to run till Dec '12 and I dont want to be in the situation where I am left to cover her entire bill, which due to circumstances I can see happening. I will not be in a postition to pay this along with my other outgoings. Would there be anyway of reducing this,or placing a block on the contract, or any other solution. Needless to say I will not be put in this position again.

What network?
No, you are highly unlikely to get this cheaper unless the network is extremely generous.
You can have the line suspended to avoid extra charges, but you'll have to pay all remaining normal monthly payments regardless.

Thank you for your reply.
The network is 02
Would I just phone and ask them to suspend the line and then carry on paying the monthly payment, would there be any other penalties doing this.

If you do this your daughter will be unable to use the phone anyway. It can be sold and the proceedings can be used for monthly payments.0 -
My daughter still has the phone, she does not live with us.
Do 02 just stop the phone being used altogether then, or can suspending the line only be done if we have access to the phone itself.
Has daughter still has the phone it would not be possible for me to sell it on to cover the costs. It seems like I have been well and tuely dumped on:(0 -
You are the contract holder and you can ask O2 to cut the line.
You can report the sim lost. The old one will get disabled and O2 will send you a new one. Make sure your address is registered with O2 and they send the sim to this address.
If you want to revenge yourself on your daughter you can report the phone stolen. O2 will block it. This will not help you financially, but the daughter will be unable to use the phone with any other sim and unable to sell it.0 -
Why not pay the £6 but tell your DD that you want the phone when the contract is up. Sell the phone once the contract is up, take out what she owes you and give her the rest.0
