cheap flights to Tenerife

please help

im looking for cheap flights to Tenerife at the end of August this year 2012......we can book an apartment for under £300 for 5 of us but when looking for flights is coming back at about £1200 so really dont make the holiday worth it

there will be 5 of us
2 adults and 3 kids 16, 13, 9
and we would like to travel from either Bristol or Cardiff but would consider other airports if cheaper

hope someone can help :T

You are flying at peak travel times so unfortunately very little chance of cheap flights. You may save a little by changing travel dates etc. but this is probably the best rate. You could look at going by ferry and holidaying in Europe, or wait until last minute but unfortunately unless you can go out of school holidays cheap holidays don't exist. Your fares are not much more than going out of season c£220 each return.

Bobbie,I can assure you those prices are not excessive in the current market,we are regular flyers to Tenerife from East Midlands,we are lucky because Ryanair, Thomas Cook, Thomson & Jet 2 all service that route.
I paid £360 last December for the two of us which was a lot more than we normally pay but this year i have not been able to book any flights with two cases under £480,booked yesterday for early December on Thomson and it was £521,Ryanair have not released their winter programe yet, but i will be surprised if they are much cheaper based on the price i have had to pay for Gran Canaria with them for September £428.
I think cheap air travel has long gone
  • thanks both for the replys......looks like we might have to give Tenerife a miss this year and start saving now for next year x
