you don't need anything specific but do make sure you have a good routine established and don't do things like go to bed with your make up on
An eye gel or light cream is a good thing to use if you don't already as it's where you'll notice the first wrinkles. Don't get the really expensive anti aging ones though as they're usually a heavier texture and meant for much older women. I love Elemis absolut eye serum but it's not cheap but any of the major brands that do a serum texture or a gel will be a good start. You may find that in winter especially you need a slightly heavier moisturiser than you used to but your skin will tell you. The best advice I can give you though is to get a good cleanser and make sure you use it properly. I use Liz Earle and love it but again there are plenty of high street alternatives. As long as you're using a moisturiser as well then you probably don't need to do much more at this stage but do take care to cleanse and moisturise right down to your bust line as that's the skin that we most abuse and age is often seen in women's necks. Prevention is always better. In the summer expecially, use a high factor SPF - wrinkles are more likely if you smoke and spend time in the sun - you might want to use one of the good branded SPFs instead of your moisturiser or at least make sure your moisturiser has an SPF in it (but remember to apply a higher factor when it's actually sunny!). I use a factor 50 when on holiday or when sunbathing and at least 15 in the UK.
An easy thing to add into your routine is rosehip oil - there's a thread in Green & Ethical I think about it. It's really good for your skin and won't make you spotty even though it's an oil.
If money's tight then use basic cleanser and moisturiser with a cheap eye gel - it's better than nothing.0 -

well i'm 41 & when I go out with my sister they think I'm the younger one & shes only 36 - didn't think I was lucky when younger with oily skin but thank the lord now - I always use a moisturiser suitable for skin type & this changes around time of month but i swear by collagen eye lift gel by Gale Hayman & throat firming gel by gatineau - i use these every day0

Just wanted to agree with the comment Justie made about prevention being better than cure. This cannot be emphasised enough.
If you do nothing else, at least use a good moisturiser with a SPF 15 every time you go outside, every day of your life. I use the Olay Complete Care one which I think is great. I've used a moisturiser with an SPF since the age of 21 (I'm now 36). I've also never smoked or sunbathed.
When I look at some of my peers, I can't believe how much older they look. If you take on board this point, you will see the diference as you move into your 30's and 40's, I'm sure.0 -
I agree, getting into a good routine is so beneficial. Spf is very important, drink lots of water and moisturise. I love Liz earle range with cleanser etc.. exfoliate twice a week and face mask once a week or more often on problem areas and care around eyes. Try rose oil it is meant to be anti aging and prevents wrinkles .If you use it this now it will keep your skin moisturised and wrinkles at bay & its natural. I am using rio oil this now at £9.99 but you can get it cheaper here - plus its organic The rio oil site has details of rose oil and reviews from the guardian etc .
Other than that DO use an eye gel- the eyes can be the first sign of aging and always keep your skin well moisturised. A muslim cloth is great for cleaning the skin and really gets your circulation going.
Another thing I would say is dont use too much makeup. I really feel it does take a toll on skin and noticed a big differance in my skin since I started wearing makeup- I have known some womens face colour to darken with constant use of foundation .Only use what you need- maybe powder, some concealer and if you feel you need it foundation on any areas that may need it but if you dont need it dont be tempted to wear it.0 -
My better half is quite often on QVC. (against my better wishes) She has now developed a very big likening for all things Gatineau. The Gatineau range features a number of anti-ageing (is it anti-aging or is it anti-ageing?) products.
Personally I cannot see any difference, but my partner swears by Gatineau beauty products. The programmes on QVC can be vaguely amusing, but you ladies seem to fall for the sales patter so easily!0 -
I agree with Justie but wearing sunscreen every day incl winter will do most of it. I wear estee lauder daywear protective antioxidant spf 15total debt at lightbulb 18th April 2007:idea: £42367.60:eek: DFW Nerd No 725. DFW longhauler no 8. Official DMP mutal support club member no 62.0

Yep, A big vote for sunscreen from me too, I wish Id known this in my twenties. I now dont leave the house without it, ever. Oh and not smoking ofcourse.0 -
I am rapidly heading for the big 3-0 and as yet don't have any wrinkles, largely due to good genetics and also wearing a foundation with sunscreen in since I was 21.
My Mum also drummed into me that everything you do in your 20's reflects in your face forever so I quit smoking, stuck with sunscreen and bought a good moisturizer and eye product.
I tend to rotate mine every year or so between Elemis pro-collagen & eye serum, Decleor Arromesence Rose and contour serum or Prescriptives super line preventor and advanced protection eye cream. My Mum swears by Liz Earle and Gatineau which seem to be much better for reactive skin.
I once had one of those face scans done with my friend and it is quite shocking to see what damage you do to yourself just by not wearing sunscreen or keeping your skin hydrated.0
