ESA Decision

Thought I'd say that today I received my decision and have been put straight into the support group. I'd been dreading the letter and couldn't beleive it when I opened it!

All I can say is be totally honest & send in all info and medical reports you have to support what you are saying.

It took me 3 weeks to fill in the ESA50 and collate all the info I could but it was worth it.

    Well done!!

I say that but I know it's a nightmare for many and you should be relieved to get what's rightfully yours instead of being congratulated.

Maybe your success will make others think that they may actually be in the right group also, instead of arguing the toss to get into the support group after being put in the work group.

I went into the support group and not to be re-assessed for 3 years, which will be Jan 2013.
This time round I'm not going to bother anymore filling out the forms. I will be 65 in June 2014 so it really isn't worth making the claim for 18 months. I think I will just drop straight into pension credit from next year - no difference in money, just a lot less trouble.

I would request a copy of the medical report prepared by atos....
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

Why were you dreading the decision letter if you knew that you were so honest when you were filling out your form and sent all your medical records then?

You got the right outcome and you've been put in the support group so congratulations to you.

I would however say that if you'd been refused ESA you'd be asking WHY. The rest of ill people who are refused do or did the same thing you did. Some people are refused or put in WRAG even though they've sent all their medical reports. I don't think anyone tells lies on the forms.

Fortunately for you when you get your Atos medical you won't be that curious to know what lies have been written about you as for most of us it leaves us angry and more deppressed. I was happy that I got ESA in WRAG as I didn't know much about the desciptors and just heard about even terminally ill people being refused ESA total and I told the truth and submitted more reports on the day. I wish I had never asked for the Atos medical report.

The mere fact more appeals are won means that lies are really filled in forms. By who, you tell me.

I so wish you'd just told of your good result and leave out the rest as we all do it.

    You really believe this?
That there are no errors in the system, everyone is able to submit full detailed medical history, and all decisions made are correct unless someone intentionally lies?

I do not think you come from this planet.

Decisionmakers have half an hour to decide each claim.
This is not a generous amount of time, and will mean that they at best will skim much evidence, even if it is properly supplied.

And it doesn't always help if you do have a medical and the person doing the medical fails to record evidence or enter new illnesses, treatments and medical professionals you are 'seeing'.

Apparently I have had physio on both of my wrists according to my recent medical but now where else. weird cause it was only one wrist, back both knees, hip and my pelvis twice. The best bit is one page i am pregnant and under pregnancy risk for the LCWRA it states there is no evidence I am pregnant he obviously missed the huge lump under my t-shirt i'm due in 5 weeks the fact he looked at my maternity notes and my MAT B 1 Certificate.

There is your perfect system where people lie to get benefits and the those in power never get anything wrong!

Anyway back to topic congratulations again Sizzler x

From my reckoning you would have been entitled to Pension Credit a few years ago. Surprised you weren't notified of this before you went into the Support Group.

wiccanlou that is exactly what I mean by lies being written in forms. Is it not a lie that you had physio in two wrists when the fact is you had in only one? So who filled lies in the form?

rogerblack, may you please read my previous post again? Why would so many people be winning their appeals if they are the ones writing lies with no medical records then? I don't know the part in that post that made you come to that conclusion as I expected the answer to be Atos.

I went to the medical and was pushed in a wheelchair and never walked and hands, ankles , feet were swollen. That is why I said I wish I'd not asked for the Atos report as the nurse wrote in his form that I can walk 100 yards which is a lie. They ignored all the medical reports from my GP, physios, OT
who are seeing me and made their decision based on what an Atos nurse said.

Op wrote as if people don't get in the right group because they are not TOTALLY HONEST when filling the forms and have no medical reports and info to support what they and the medical professionals are saying.

The Atos nurse even said I'll be better in 6 months and that time is almost up and I'm waiting for his miracle healing to happen and then maybe I'll be man Jesus told to get up and walk as I so want my life back and not ESA.
