I cook my rice, drain thoroughly, (I cheat as I use bags of easy cook rice from ald1) Then I heat gently some stir fry oil/sesame oil and mix in the rice, some cooked peas, cooked sweetcorn and chopped spring onion and a chopped up cooked omelette. Add some soy sauce to taste. You can add cooked meat, such as ham or chicken and tinned water chestnuts bamboo shoots, toasted cashew nuts etc.

This is just my version, that I have used over the years so no definite recipe. The main thing to remember is to be careful with how many times you heat up the rice as its can cause food poisoning.

Hi craigywv, you can mix the egg into the rice, stir fry your rice first, make a wee well then pour beaten egg into the middle and mix mix mix! (bit messy imo)

or (and this is how i do it) beat your egg, then heat some oil in wok and pour in egg. Leave to cook like an omelette. Once cooked take out and chop up. stirfry your rice n veg/meat etc then add in the cooked egg pieces at the end
    hth's

On GC note, £1.40 in work on water and a can of fizzy pop as i left mine at home!

I havent been in a SM for a while as I have been shopping with Ocad0 with free delivery. Just buying the cheapest of what we need, and topping up at Ald1.

My daughter asked me to pick her up a bottle of pop (Sprite to be exact) whilst i was at the cashmachine, she was paying. Even so, I was in shock and still am £2.29??? for one big bottle. When did the price rise this much, last time I bought it, which was not that long ago, it was two bottles for £1.50.
I noticed crisps have also shot up in price they were doing bogofs on 12 packs of quavers but they were £3.65 for one pack. £3.64 for 6 cans of cola, Whats happening? Prices seem to be rocketing.

Spent £12.85 on fruit and veg and jam in ald! tonight. Not sure of the grand total so far but its less than £50 so far so pleased with that.

On another note, OH was complaining that I didn't feed him enough dinner tonight and he was still hungry so I just made my first micropud. Wow. Far too easy. Think that could be a problem on the waistline in future. Biggest mistake was letting OH see how easy it was! Unfortunately the "serves 4" is ambitious in our household. "Serves OH" is more accurate. Just about persuaded him that I can have a spoonful too. Good job he does manual work so burns off the calories easily. Me on the other hand could be in trouble!
