This may be of interest to any nostalgia/WWII buffs out there. The Colwyn Bay Forties festival is taking place on Saturday in the town centre and will feature amongst other things a life size replica of a Spitfire, vintage vehicles, a George Formby impersonator, fashion shows, music and 1940's cooking.
The event is free to attend and a programme of events is included in this article - http://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/112133/it-s-a-feast-of-fabulous-40s-fun.aspx

Very tempting. The only thing which is putting me off is the cost of the train ticket.
How far are the events to walk to from the train station, please? Quite fancy the heritage walk, too.
Who cares about a bit of rain? :cool:Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

As Greenface said the station is very close by. If you come out of the station and walk straight across the car park to the main road then turn right then Penrhyn Road is the next road on the left (just after Blockbuster). It's about a two minute walk. The heritage walk starts from the car park behind the Job Centre which again is only a couple of minutes walk from Penrhyn Road.
Being Colwyn Bay it most likely will rain although today hasn't been too bad, as I was driving home from work (I work in Colwyn Bay) the sun was shining so you never know. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

are you going alone ? welsh mountain zoo just up the hill. Bus run from the station + further up the rd. Llandudno is a short bus journey away great seafront & prom .good shops & decent cafes. Where are you travelling from ?

I know Llandudno well, and i did wonder whether to purchase a plusbus, but there wasn't an option on the site. Can't complain at the price i paid for the ticket though.
I think i'll just stick to CB. The sea air and change of scenery will do me the world of good.
Shame the spitfire is a replicaDebt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
