What does this actually mean?
The terms of the mobile phone insurance say:
Given that they supposedly cover accidental damage and water damage - what does the sentence above actually mean???
We will not cover your phone or accessories being damaged or stolen as a result of something you or any person using the phone have done or not done to make this more likely to happen.

It means that the insurers will not pay out if they believe you have not taken reasonable steps to avoid damage or theft. take theft for example. say you put in a claim that your mobile has been stolen, but you have left your bag, with your phone in, unattended. they would not pay out in this case.0

Spot on. Leaving on the table in the pub, going to the toilet and coming back to find it gone = not covered.0 -
Spot on. Making a call late at night in a street = "you ...have done ..." something "...to make..." robbery "...more likely to happen". Not covered. !!!! off...
Taking your mobile with you (instead of leaving it at home) = making it more likely to have it lost or stolen. Not covered. ...
The point is that there is no place for such vague and ambiguous clauses in any T&C unless they are specially designed for robbing the customers.0 -
It means you can't purposely damage the phone to get a new one. Or leaving it unattended is another one. You need to do everything you can to look after the phone and if you don't then they could refuse a payout.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

But if I accidentally damage it, surely that is "something you or any person using the phone have done or not done to make this more likely to happen" ???0 -

The point is, if you do not have the security of insurance, you will make damm sure you do not accidently damage the handset, look how many 'faulty' lost stolen handset posts we get on here just as the newer model is arriving0
