The best that I have seen this year are those that go to any of the National Trust properties and proudly display a Blue Badge. Two get in for the price of one and have privilidged parking.
That's OK with me, except when I find out that a single Blue Badge in one family does the round from grandparents to nieces and nephews throughout the year!
As I have said before its greed that comes before need!!
As the blue badge contains the photo, I suggest all these places need to do is look at the photo, because a grandparent is not going to look like a grandchild.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
So am I, the last time we went to download festival (2010) we were exceptionally lucky as my partner was already on their list for his numerous health conditions so were able to get disabled camping but I did not ask for the free ticket in fact I told them that I didn't want one as they are restricted and I could afford my own one and that we were not having any one else staying with us even though our friends requested to as it was closer to the arena.
We had many conversation with the people that worked there and they were so frustrated by the people who were eligible but abused it by having people who quite blatantly weren't there to be carers or helpers so therefore making it inaccessible for people who obviously needed it and needed the extra help so that their official carers could actually have some time to themselves.
I see things like those festivals as treats as many do and the ability to be close to the amenities a luxury but not something that should be abused and taken advantage of because of selfishness. You get a pass for the platform too but we didn't use unless he needed to sit on a chair as there was no one around to help him up off the floor after he sat down or a fence to lean on.
I have my own mobility problems now and have just had the new BB assessment done and have been awarded a badge. I am hoping that I will get better after a couple of ops that I need done and further physio but as i said to the Dr doing the assessment as soon as I don't feel I need this BB any more it will be coming back as I used to be my Nan's carer and know that the spaces are hens teeth when you need one.well today was a complete waste of make up :eek:0 -

I asked that very same question after the row I had with them over it. Apparently, they never look at the photo, they are just happy to see the badge on the dashboard!0
