Ticketmaster and DLA

Did anyone know if you ring up to book tickets and mention your in receipt of DLA then a carer can get a free ticket????
I'd have thought that maybe the "companion" would get reduced rate etc. To my total joy i just got really good seats to see Elton John and only paid for one ticket!! (saving of £97).
Thought i'd share the info in case anyone didnt know. I defo didnt know lol xxxx
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea

Every event has different criteria depending on the demand but it is a great thing for those who need to have a carer with them.

One thing I will say is if there is a gig you want to go to make sure you get in there nice and early as the seats and provisions for disabled and there carers go really quickly.

I wonder if this 'offer' will be abused? I know many that receive DLA but certainly don't need a carer in tow - they manage quite well without input from another person.

In these cases, maybe they will ask one of their friends to be 'a carer' for the night!!

And don't say it doesn't happen - it does - certainly at many O2 events it does - one of my friends makes a habit of it!!

There's always going to be people who abuse a very generous offer.

Thanks Op, I'm glad you posted this, it's good of you to let us know.

    Enjoy the concert! :T

Some of the restrictions are that you have to receive high rate care and mobility and you have to provide evidence of that, for instance we have been to several festivals over the years and the disabled camping was restricted to those who had DLA and you could have up to 4 people staying with you, it was blatantly abused by some to get the free ticket so then they changed the level so that you had to have a minimum of high mobility medium rate care I believe they were changing it again this year as it is so heavily subscribed.

I'm so pleased that they are tackling this abuse.

The best that I have seen this year are those that go to any of the National Trust properties and proudly display a Blue Badge. Two get in for the price of one and have privilidged parking.
That's OK with me, except when I find out that a single Blue Badge in one family does the round from grandparents to nieces and nephews throughout the year!

As I have said before its greed that comes before need!!
