Anyone looked at a Huawei G300

Hi,

Looking for a backup smartphone (on a Vodafone contract at the moment) and have seen the new offering from VF, the Huawei G300. Amusingly this has a better spec on paper than my other phone, so it might end up being my main phone.

Although it has just appeared, has anyone had a chance to play with one yet? Obviously I'm not wanting to pay silly money, and it looks a pretty good offering for the price.

Iain

Meant to add, not interested in an Orange SF2 either, as this phone needs to be on Vodafone, or unlocked.

    Thanks Grumbler,

    I'd missed the HUKD thread.

I had a look at one to replace my San Fran, then decided I'd had enough of cheap phones and got an Xperia S.
I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Thanks for that input - as far as I'm concerned £400-ish for any phone is silly money. Wouldn't even pay that for a primary phone, never mind a back-up one. £100-ish is more the sort of price I'm looking to pay.

  • I've got this phone to replace my 19 month old orange San Francisco. Its a great upgrade for me. Rooted already. There's a thread over at modaco. Only issue is low volume on loudspeaker but there is a temp fix until someone sorts a software fix.
