    Morning Guys!

Hillstep-Happy Birthday and enjoy the time with the family. Have a lovely day.

Havent slept to well again and its blowy and freezing here today, but the nurses came at just before 7 and I have some extra morphine in me which is starting to kick in.

WM & DW have been emptied and we're just about to have bacon and egg sandwiches with some OJ. OH did the tin cupboard yesterday and a full freezer inventory, so we know where we are now.

Wednesdays are always a bit weird as DD isn't at college and she does her course all day in her room but she manages to come in and spend some time with me every hr or so which I enjoy. Im going to miss her so much when she leaves home:(

Had another wedding invite for July, so think we'll book somewhere for a few days and make a little break with it. Thats 4 so far for this year:eek::eek::eek:

Dinner will be easy tonight as the cleaner is here today, so maybe burger, chips and beans/peas with bread and butter.

Anyway, hope everyone has a good day.

    PP

question: is it necessary to rewash after rain? I just leave it out till it's dry (but I'm not known for my laundry skills, so this is a genuine question)
I wouldn't. I think it depends where you live, tbh; if you're in the middle of somewhere with very high levels of air pollution, maybe you would, but here, 2 miles from the centre of Milton Keynes, I don't consider it necessary. HTH.:o

My washing is in the bathroom to dry today - it's wet out there!:(

Good morning HH, Jackie O and all who follow.

    Happy Birthday Hilstep.

Well you will have gathered I am back in the UK and a bit jetlagged.

DD is ok but now convinced she will never be able to have children after the recent miscarriages in spite of my reassurances. I'm sure she will, especially as she has given up work for the time being. She will do some supply work for her school though.

She worked long hours teaching and travelled on those horribly crowded trains. Yes they do push people on -I saw it myself yesterday waiting for the express to Narita airport.

It was lovely to spend time with her and we had a lovely girlie week after OH went home as he had to get back to work. Japan is very expensive though. A coffee in starbucks is about 6 quid. We were quite OS and took sandwiches and coffee with us most days.

OH spent time tidying up the garden, working and playing model railways. The house has been cleaned and tidied to within an inch of it's life and he has rearranged my cupboards.:o I haven't been away from him for so long for quite a while....

Oh well in bed with the lappie as OH has gone to work. He is still waiting to hear whether he is to be made redundant. They extended the consultation period for a month so he should hear by 9th May. He really wants to go.

It will be a quiet day here as I have to wait in for DD's Kindle to be collected as it isn't working. They have already replaced it-OH forwarded it to Japan as it was delivered here- and brought the faulty one home with him when he came back. They do have very good customer service.

I may make bread as I have been eating DD's home made bread for three weeks. Mmm lovely grub! She bought a breadmaker cheap from a woman who was returning home and it has been worth it's weight in gold. She bought a bread spacer to cut even slices and I brought one home with me.

Sorry-I appear to have written an essay!

    Bye for now.

    Morning everyone.
Its raining here. Again. My house is going to stink of wet dog at this rate :rotfl:
Luna slept upstairs in our room last night, heavens that dog can snore  KC was obviously feeling pushed out and decided to leave a dead mouse for us on the landing as a present. How kind :rotfl:

Not really many plans today, got an architect coming round today. I think I spared you my rantings about my conservatory once it was done, basically unbeknown to us permitted building rights were removed from the properties in the area when the houses were built so if you fart in the garden it requires planning permission. One of our charming neighbours rang the council to see if we had permission to build, we thought we did under standard building regs but due to this clause it would appear not. so we have to apply for retrospective planning permission. We've already applied once and the council are so anal they sent it back invalid. for £200 this architect will complete the application, sort out all the ordinance maps, drawings etc. Am right royally cheesed off with the extra money but the maps alone cost £45 so least this way it will be done right and not keep being returned.

So hes coming at midday so basically even if I wanted to go out for the day it's not possible anyway.......I might do some baking instead with the kids.

Havent looked at what is for tea yet, still working my way through my first coffee :rotfl:

Hilstep - Happy birthday to you and your GD, can't believe shes two :beer:

JackieO - hope Ben can find a new job asap x

Gintot - sorry about DD, having seen footage of staff literally squeezing people onto the train the subway in Japan is my claustophobic nightmare

hugs and spoons all rond xx

    Morning :hello:
    Happy Birthday Hilstep :bdaycake:

It's grey and miserable here, with that silly rain - the type where it looks like nothing but after two mins you're soaked through :D The weather matches my mood, I woke up angry and peed off and I have no idea why?

The house is halfway through a good sort out, it's starting to look and feel much better. Wish I could get rid of all the DVDs, mr tru likes to visit Blockbuster and buy ex-rentals when they're on offer. We have two bookcases full and some in a pile on the floor behind the sofa. Our local Blockbuster is closed (or is about to) so hopefully the clutter won't get worse. I may have to declutter HIM.

I'm looking after someone's finances at the moment, I went through it all yesterday, updated it and sents lots of letters on his behalf. Funny how you don't realise how much things are cluttering your mind til you sort them and then feel much better.

Could someone give me some energy please? I think mine was drained from me while I slept :undecided

Birthday greetings Hilstep, hope you have a lovely day:)
    Hugs for everyone.
It is so chilly here today, wet and windy. No washing on the line , airers will be in full use. Woofer is at the vets having x-rays, :( He was running over the field yesterday evening and landed funny and was limping and crying. So a nervous wait till they phone me, hoping everything will be ok. So will make good use of the time with some baking.
The childrens great Aunt (from their dads side) passed away last week. She was a lovely lady who I had alot of time for . The funeral is next week, not looking forward to it obviously partly as the ex will be there and once again we are not on speaking terms because of his constant letting the kids down. Will just stay on the other side of the room away from him and his scum bag brother.
Dinner tonight is spanish chicken with green beans and baby corn.

Not alot else going on atm here , hope you are all keeping well , have a good day all.

    Soggy good morning all!
    Happy Birthday Hilstep:)
Not much happening here at the mo.
I finished DS' socks at last yesterday. They needed the toes grafting and I couldn't work up the enthusiasm till last night.
    The greenhouse is looking productive.
I am sure that the last time I started everything off in there, it was April and a bit too late really but this time I started them in March and it might have been a bit too early. Thats British weather for you.
At least with this cooler weather, the watering is less frequent.
I potted on about 20 Tomato plants yesterday ,good thing my neighbour gave me a load of old pots a couple of years ago .
I might have to make some of those Jam crumblies that people have mentioned on the fiscal thread as we have a pot of mincemeat that is begging to be used up and its far too wet to go into town.
Tea tonight is impossible Quiche.baked spuds and veg as this week was Bacon week and it will finish off the pack.
We do one week Chicken, one week liver and bacon, one week fish and sausages with mince beef intermittently interspersed.
Anyway have a good day all.

    Morning all.

Rubbish night's sleep. The rev had a sticky meeting and came home in a bit of a state to put it mildly. You wouldn't think that there would be bullying in the workplace if you worked for a church, would you? Unfortunately there are some ministers who regard their position as just a job and have no patience or understanding of those like the rev who are in it heart and soul. Anyway, we will weather the storm and emerge in one piece, this is not the first time it has happened and I don't suppose it will be the last.

In view of the fact that she is feeling besieged and battered, she has cancelled a couple of meetings today and I am going to take her out to lunch. So... no cooking for me, not meals at least, perhaps a few more biscuits and some goodies for my DS and DiL2B when they arrive with their furniture.

Started to do a bit of clearing up in my bedroom yesterday, got carried away and cleared up the whole lot. It would impress anyone now as long as they didn't have X-ray eyes and could see inside the cupboards and drawers.:D

Happy Birthday Hilstep and Hilstep'sDGD. :bdaycake: Enjoy your day and don't spend all the time playing with your carpet cleaner. Is it a good one? I have been looking for one but automatically don't believe the advertiser's blurb so not sure what to get. I'd be grateful for any ideas.
