I am sure it will be along the lines of "Don't worry property always goes up" and "nothing to see her" - they are just being doom mongers!0

Thought there might have been a mention of the high-speed rail link to France (opens later this year I think), and the possibility of finance companies clearing off to a better tax deal in Geneva.0

Sorry, it made perfect sense in my head :rotfl:
I mean that, as a first time buyer in my mid twenties, I am only now due to university commitments etc finding the wherewithal to buy into an ever-increasing market. So, right now, I have the choice of ignoring the doom-mongerings and mortgaging myself to the hilt or continuing to line my landlord's bulging pocket for an indefinate time until this purported 'crash' is over and done with.
It's no choice really. I have to buy and hope for the best.
Surely there are enough people who have been in our position for the last five years to jump on the wagon if prices start to fall and therefore stabilise the market?Total Original Debt: £30404.24
Current debt: £18586.16
Total Paid: £11857.74 38.95% :T0 -

Things to ask people who predict house price crashes:-
1. Do you own a house
Yes?
2. Why have you not sold it - if you believe house prices will crash, you ought to sell it and rent for the duration of the crash, then buy it back.
I would be surprised if they have a good answer to the 2nd question.0
