itunes uses mp4 format so if the files arent in this format you may need to convert them to mp4.

alternatively when you put a cd in the computer you can use itunes to import the cd.

once the files are in itunes you just connect your ipod using the cable and itunes should sync the files.

    Not for music it doesn't;)

The 2 main choices when importing music into iTunes is mp3 or AAC!

If the CDs were ripped as ISO images, then you must be using some form of virtual CD player to "load" the CDs in order to play them. If you do this with itunes open it should ask you if you wish to import the CD into itunes.

If stored as individual MP3/MP4 tracks, add the folder to itunes library as detailed above and your music tracks should now appear in itunes.

Hi This is all new to me but i used windows media player is that what you mean by virtual cd player ?

Hi ive followed what you typed and when i click on file, add to library and navigate to the folder etc i did that and my music came up there but what do i do then and how do i import them into i tunes. Thanks

By clicking OK you are telling iTunes to imports these files. In the little display at the top of iTunes you should see it go through each track as it finds them. If you then click on 'music' on the top left hand side you should see all of your music that's been imported.

are the files in a WMA format?
to check go to windows media player, on the p.c that you used to rip the CDs, then click on tools then options, then rip music, what do you see for the settings?
by default its set for WMA, and copy protect on.
Almost all mp3 players on the market will play copy protected WMA files, with one exception, those made by Apple.

    In iTunes click 'file'

select 'add FOLDER to library' or words to that effect!

Navigate to the folder that contains all of your music

Click 'ok' or 'open' (can't remember off the top of my head what it says.

You should then see itunes go through your tracks one by one in the display window.

This is all I do with mine.

If files are MP3 they're added to the library. If they're in WMA the Itunes converts them to MP3 then adds them. I did about 50 CD's a while back. Took a couple of hours to convert.

Of course, you don't have to use iTunes.. WinAmp, Songbird or WMP are some other choices for Apple devices.

another thing to consider with ripping music using windows media plaer, is the output format, the default is set to WMA and with security ( encryption ) on this means that the music will play in Most ( but not all ) mp3 players, and some phones.
in the wont play list are apple products, unless you use some software to strip off the DRM protected content.
