Install iTunes on the laptop. Go into the preferences and then advanced. Untick "Copy files to iTunes folder when adding to library" and also "Keep iTunes media folder organised."

Next, click on File, Add to Library and navigate to the folder your music is in. Once its imported into iTunes, connect your iPod and follow the instructions.

itunes uses mp4 format so if the files arent in this format you may need to convert them to mp4.

alternatively when you put a cd in the computer you can use itunes to import the cd.

once the files are in itunes you just connect your ipod using the cable and itunes should sync the files.

If the CDs were ripped as ISO images, then you must be using some form of virtual CD player to "load" the CDs in order to play them. If you do this with itunes open it should ask you if you wish to import the CD into itunes.

If stored as individual MP3/MP4 tracks, add the folder to itunes library as detailed above and your music tracks should now appear in itunes.
