  • Last minute change of plans for tonight. We were supposed to be going to my cousin's NYE party as we do every year, but DH had a bit of a panic attack about going to a house full of people and DS1 said he didn't feel up to going either (??) so I cancelled. At least I get to spend it with the 3 people that mean the most to me, even if at least 1 of them will be going to bed as normal, if not all of them!

Only downside is that we were going to eat at the party so I had nothing planned for tea. Just fed the boys from the freezer but DH is making noises about a takeaway which I'm struggling to resist. Really wanted a NSD though! Should be no spends tomorrow either, we have been summoned to Mother Dearest's for lunch! Must be a special occassion :rotfl:.

Hope everyone has a fabulous night whatever your plans Xx

I hope you have a happy and healthy new year too Lucky!

A takeaway wouldn't be the end of the world on New Year's Eve. Sometimes you have to loosen the debt strings a tiny bit you know. The debt journey is not supposed to be a punishment!

  • Hello!!

I have just come across your diary & wanted to let you know I think you are fantastic!! With everything that has happened to your family you seem like a very optimistic person & I can see that it is catching - you inspire others.

Well done on the debt busting on a shoe-string. Your sons will be incredibly proud of you when they see what you have achieved one day. Not only that, but the example you set is hard to beat!

I hope you got a lovely take-away and enjoy your New Years, whatever you do and however many people you celebrate with ;) my own little lady is long in bed and so myself and OH avoided the takeaway (narrowly, I was tempted) in favour of turkey bolognese (not bad really... ;) ) and will be toasting with MIL's care package fizzy vimto :rotfl:

Happy New Year. Here is to a 2013 full of the right kind of luck!!

    Lesson #1 of 2013
Thou shalt not put your 2 year old to bed at normal time, stay up to see in the New Year and then expect any kind of lie in to compensate!!!

    Hi PLMBL

I know exactly how you are feeling
DS2 went to bed normal time and we let DS1 stay up with us to see the fireworks on telly

DS1 had a lovely lie in. DS2 on the other hand was up at 7 (that is a little lie in though as he is usually up at 6:30)

    Feeling a little tired now
